That Awkward Thing I Did With My Brain

in #art7 years ago

So I managed to do something today, at least.
Don't have much to say. Chances are, you're not here to see this anyway.

The Awkward Thing I Did With My Brain

The Art

I'll start there.

Today I used my trusty mirror tool, split what was originally a blank digital canvas into four parts, then went to work. On the surface, I just wanted it to look like a blur of fancy colors, kinda trippy, whatever.

Upon closer inspection the viewer might notice two sets of twins taking up most of each corner. The top dudes look different than the bottom, but if you flipped the image over, you'd see the exact same thing. Many of you who've followed my blog for awhile have seen me do this before. Attempting to make reflections appear as two different things is one of the hardest tests I'll put my mind through.

I lost track but I know for fact there were at least thirty separate layers at one point. In the end it's all merged together to make one layer. I've explained that technique before and what goes into it.

I mentioned the twins but there's a lot more to see there once the viewer allows their mind to wander. I've explained many times in the past how I'll produce images designed to trigger pareidolia and if you aren't aware, pareidolia is defined as: the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern.

I hope someone out there at least thinks it's cool.

Because it took all damn day to make.

And it's been a rough day!

Where I'm at now has a terrible internet connection. Most of what I do with my life requires a steady stream of fast internet flowing through my body and the devices I use.

When I'm not busy, I don't need an internet connection. My beer, that chair, the beach; none of that even needs a plugin.

I'm going to head over there now, for a bit.

I'll be back later to shoot the shit with you folks if you're around, provided I have some form of wifi that isn't being eaten up by a bunch of teenagers zoned out on cat videos or whatever the hell they're so grumpy about not being able to watch today.

Have a nice evening, or day, or whatever the hell it is over there.

"pareidolia is defined as: the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern."

Couldn't that also be stated as "looking at oneself in a mirror"?

Do you see clever when you look in the mirror?

No. I see: "If I'm going bald anyway, how come i still have to pay for haircuts?"

You should stop writing reminders on your mirror.

Who else is going to read what I write?

You know what? Ya got me! I have no idea.

Thank you for making me feel like a winner!

There is an ongoing theme in your art where there is this funny looking little dude that is the power source in the shadows. I see him in green here. The hearts are a nice touch, as the benevolent workers. I see the little blue pointy-nose heads as Frankenstein parts, and the hearts are trying to create more parts in that blank space. The yellow spider is too eye-catching to be the villain, it is just a machine. Green guy is running it all.

We went to the beach today as well, to pick up the hoards of human leftovers after Independence Day. Humans are vulgar creatures. Maybe that is what green man is working on correcting...no, I think not.

You must be one hell of a good Where's Waldo player.

There's actually a lot of darkness in this one; but I stashed it away behind all that color. Based on the response as a whole though I'm feeling like this was a big flop... which is fine, whatever. That's my fault for just making whatever awkward thing my brain can come up with, then presenting it to a crowd of people who couldn't show up today. Had a hunch it would happen anyway.

Where's Waldo could drive a person mad...until you've found every single Waldo in the book in one sitting...not that I know from experience.

Whatever awkward thing that comes to the brain is what ought to be done. Get it out.

This is my favorite of those I've seen. The symmetry is very pleasing to the eye and I like the way the sun-like nexus kind of bleeds off into the quadrants with ominous faces.

Can you see the two sleeping faces? How about the fountains or pools? The number '25'? The tree with the rippled reflection on water?

Maybe I should have actually listed everything I stashed away in there...

No, but I'm not that observant. I also scrolled over it before, so now I've got it zoomed out and am staring at it.

yeah, the beer and the beach is awesome, like this. lol
because wifi in Philippines run's like a turtle, even in viewing photo's it sucks. haha

I thought it was a summary of the new Spider Man movie!

It could be that! Why not.

This is one I could stare at for a long time watching ghostly shapes appear and I love the colours.

Love the art - first it is just abstract and pretty and then you start seeing more and more- I like this one the most of what I have seen.
