Porretta Terme ❤
During my holidays I made a stop at Porretta.
Porretta Terme is located in the Tosco-Emiliano Apennines, it is 59 km from the provincial capital, which can be reached via the state road 64 Porrettana and it is 34 km from Pistoia my city .
The Porrettana railway, very famous for the wonderful view that you can see when you travel via porrettana connects Bologna with Pistoia and has its main station in Porretta. The Porrettana railway administratively divides the town of Porretta Terme.
Porretta's history is very ancient and is linked to the presence of healing waters. A legend of the medieval time era tells that a sick ox was released from his master and went to a drink in one of the thermal springs. Having returned to his master completely healed, this affair began the fame of healing and medical waters in Porretta . The ox that abounds has remained as a symbol of Porretta.
Porretta is also famous for its jazz music festival held for three days each July.

It is a quite place, but lovely to visit it.
