Archeological area in Populonia.
I want to tell you about my last turn, made in Populonia, more precisely in the archaeological area above the gulf of Baratti.
We leave the morning at seven o ' clock, a high dose of caffeine and we went away. And you're going to tell who? I and my older ones, I can better explain, i work for a family restaurant as a waitress / helpgirl / bartender and occasionally accompanying trips, seeing my passion for art and archeology (the subjects of my study course) and my propensity to social relationships, of course I'm not a guide, I just love to accompany the "old people" to see beautiful places and tell them two or three things (who often they do not listen, they just think to the restaurant where we will eat). Most of our custumers are old people, so they like visiting new places with someone who explain these places.

Let's start and go all right, let's do the first stop at Torraccia, a renovated 13th-century tower. This tower was part of a series of sight-seeing towers on the coast to see the enemies from the sea, but it was also a sanitary space, since those towers were also a "quarantine" place, where our ancestors tried to avoid adding other diseases and plagues to what they already had.
Torraccia has very steep stairs, old people do not like them, but the view from the top is worth knocking on the stairs!
The Torraccia is successful, the owners make four in order to offer coffee to everyone and this makes everyone very happy.
We continue full of caffeine for Populonia, where they just arrived, the old people's struggle, on which route to go.
The most confident want to choiche a trekking rout , with you must walk for three hours, the other for an hour and a half, all in the plane or almost.
After having dissuaded with much patience the old-fashioned baldness (I did not want anyone on conscience) we opt for the mild path. The short not trekking route
We go to the mounding tombs, the newsstands and the various remains of the archaeological park.
Old people show different reactions in front of the Etruscan tombs, some seem enthusiastic and circumnavigate everyone, reading avidly the information or listening to me talking about pissids and aryballos, others shake their heads and exclaim "These graves are the same suits" (I'm not feeling disagreeable). We arrive at some time in front of the tomb of the wagons, the largest 28-meter drum, tombstone, only accessible with the guide. This tomb attracts some old people, is to go in a sort of underground corridor with a deadly background music that seems to be a lot of fun for some of them. I do not understand the old man's humor. However, the tomb of the carts is striking, the roof, rewiring a spiral, creating a unique atmosphere, almost looks like a Tim Burton movie! Everything is very beautiful, as long as the sound does not start with a voice that plays a piece of the odyssey, Ulysses descent into the underworld, appropriate, but not appealing to old people, who find their bags and puff all the time.
After the archeological journey, the lovely old people decide to have enough of the tombs and the underworld and we are going to the grape festival in the nearby Venturina! But, on the other hand, the name Populonia comes from an Etruscan deity resembling Bacco, so the grape feast was perfectly in the theme!
