As a brother, I understand how terrible war can be and the hardships that you have endured with
the people of Syria and what my people are enduring now too. My family, like you, has lost their homes, and my town of Kupyansk is under bombardment right now. And in the city of Kharkiv, where I am now, and other cities and villages in Ukraine, millions of people are in the same situation as you. Right now, there is an alarm sounding and a missile threat being declared in the streets of my city. I'm sorry, but all I can do for you now is to leave my vote for your post here. I guess god has turned his attention away from people right now....

I’m deeply sorry for what you, your family, and your people in Ukraine are enduring. No one should have to live under the shadow of war and fear. I pray for the safety of your loved ones, and for peace to come to your city, your country, and to all places suffering from conflict.
Even though you couldn’t help financially, your support, your words, and your vote mean more than you know. In moments like these, the kindness of a stranger brings light into the darkness.
May both our nations find peace, and may we live to see a day when war and pain are just distant memories.
