China assures assistance to return Rohingya..

China has promised to help Rohingyas to return to Myanmar. This assurance has been given to Bangladesh if it wants China's active support to accelerate the rapid repatriation process of Rohingyas.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said in a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali and Chinese Foreign Minister Wangii in Beijing.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali visited China on Thursday on the invitation of Chinese State Counselor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expelled the Chinese party from Myanmar and informed about the situation of 11 lakh Rohingyas taking shelter in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Foreign Minister said, "Deported Rohingyas are so scared that they want full assurance of safety in their return. They want to return to their original village, not in any shelter. It is necessary to give them a chance to earn their livelihood. '

In order to expedite the speedy recovery of the displaced people of Bangladesh, Bangladesh sought active support of China to encourage the Myanmar government to create favorable environment in the Rakhine state and to rehabilitate the Rohingya.

Foreign Ministry said in the statement that the Chinese Foreign Minister assured his country's full cooperation to implement Rohingyas in the Rakhine state of Myanmar and implementing the rapid rehabilitation process by creating housing facilities, economic opportunities there.

Both sides reviewed the progress made in implementing joint communiqué decisions signed during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping's historic Bangladesh in 2016.
In addition, the progress made in the implementation of various projects signed during the visit of the Chinese President is also discussed.
AH Mahmood Ali prayed for the help of his opponent to finalize these projects and speedily implement them.

The meeting also discussed in detail about other matters of cooperation such as trade, investment and cultural cooperation.
Both sides stressed the need for continued dialogue at the high level of the two countries and the people and agreed to work together for the common development of the region. The Foreign Minister met with Chinese Vice President Kishan earlier. During this time, he apprised him of the progress of Bangladesh, especially in the socioeconomic progress, under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Chinese leader Kishan expressed interest in contributing to various development programs in Bangladesh and assured his country's continued support for further strengthening and deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Kishan said that China is happy to be a developing country from the LDCs. Among others, Bangladesh Ambassador to China M Fazlul Karim was also present. A joint press briefing was held after the bilateral meeting and a lunch was held in honor of the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. Later, an informal meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister and Foreign Minister of Bangladesh was held. In the meeting, they exchange views on Rohingya refugees as soon as possible in Myanmar.
