Hello Steemians, Today I will be writing about the food that I prepared its Mutton curry in Nepali style at home. I myself don’t eat mutton but I made it for my flat-mate.

I used lots of spices as we the Nepalis people do use lot of spice in any non-veg curries.

(Spices and Ingredients)

The ingredients I used are:

(Note- Some ingredients are used for frying and paste and some only for frying.)

Mutton (Boneless/ With bones. I used with bones. 1kg)
Cumin Seeds -2 tea spoons
Methi Seeds -1 tea spoon
Saunf Seeds -2 tea spoon
Laung 3-5 cloves
Coriander Seeds or powder Dhanya Seeds -2 tea spoons
Black Mustard Seeds- 1 tea spoon
Cinnamon or Dal Chini 1 stick
Onion 2 large finely slice
Green Chilies 5/7 pieces or as spicy as you like
Ginger 50gms
Garlic 1 bulb
Tomato 1, finely chopped
Meat Masala 1 table spoon
Red Chili Powder as required depends on how spicy you like
Oil as required should be enough to fry.
Turmeric powder as required
Salt as required
Water as required.
Coriander leaves.

Now the Method.

First mix Cumin seeds, Coriander seeds, Methi seeds, Saunf seeds, 2 cloves Laung, half Dal chinni stick, black mustard seeds, ginger and garlic in a mixer jar and make a paste. Once ready keep it aside. Chop the onions, tomato and the chilli and keep it in separate plate. Then wash the meat and put it in strainer to drain the excess water.

Next Heat the pressure cooker, add oil and once its heated add half cinnamon sticks, remaining cloves. Fry until its black or brown depends. After that add Onion and Green Chillies, keep frying until its golden brown. Then add the paste that you prepared. Fry until its cooked and that raw smell you usually get from masala is gone. Add Mutton and cook for some more time, then add turmeric powder and salt.

Keep stirring and cook on medium flame for 15 minutes or until the meat is looks cooked. Now add chopped tomato, meat masala powder, and red chilli powder. Stir and cook for another 10 minutes. Then add water and stir couple of times. Close the pressure cooker lid. Let it cook until it whistles twice.

Once done let it sit for a while and garnish it with Coriander leaves.

By the way sorry but I did not keep a track of the preparation time but yeah it did take more than an hour that am sure (:

Omgoodness. I am a foodie at heart; and, can honestly say this looks absolutely delicious.
Mutton, for those who may not be familiar is the meat of an adult sheep.
