[EP228] - Facebook Dating - will it help cheaters?

Welcome to my video made exclusively for D.Tube.

Firstly, I'd like to say that cheaters are always going to cheat. A new technology isn't going to make people more or less faithful.. but I'm super interested in Facebook's move to add Facebook Dating into their list of apps. I think it's a smart move... Facebook isn't cool, the young and the rad aren't using it, and so this might bring back the younger crowd, especially since it uses Instagram to fill out the photos.

I was interested to read that people can exclude friends and friends of friends... which, to me, sounds like an amazing way for people who want to cheat to not get caught so easily. There are so many stories of people putting themselves on Tinder, only to be found out by a friend of their partner.

Obviously I can see the intended use case, it's a way to meet brand new people, and I think Facebook's Secret Crush functionality is super cute. If you like a friend or a friend of a friend, you put them in a Secret Crush section, and it only lets the other person know if they also put you in that section. So if they don't use Facebook Dating, or never put you in, then they'll never know. That sort of functionality gives ol Facey some hooks that Tinder and the others don't have.
