[EP209] - So many cities are running out of water...

in #dtube5 years ago

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all well!
Welcome to my video made exclusively for D.Tube.

So, it freaks me out that Melbourne made the list of 10 cities that are about to run out of water:
https://www.usnews.com/news/cities/slideshows/10-cities-most-at-risk-of-running-out-of-water?onepage

It's a huge problem that it doesn't really feel like anyone is tackling properly. Between the Climate Crisis and oceans rising, I do think that Australia is going to be in big trouble... along with so many countries. Australia is really conservative, so admitting that Climate Crisis is even real is a huge, maybe, impossible challenge.

Melbourne in particular, has already suffered major droughts, and is at sea level, and yet is still not doing anything.
I personally think countries really need to start taking this seriously and actually start working on infrastructure that will allow people to move to higher ground... but of course that'll never happen because that's the future governments problem, not these government's problem.

What do you think?

Thanks for watching!

Need to know and be aware, not to mention, to act on it.

100%!! Thanks for your comment, you're right on!!

must be all the showers that elsie is taking! :)

Hahaha, that's hilarious!

people are not doing enough. we are all to blame. we need to be more active earth citizens. we need to share a message of optimizing what we have left instead of exploiting more and more.

One of my other videos about the environment... I had a comment from someone saying that the US doesn't need to do anything, it only contributes 15% and that it's China and India that need to change. Firstly, that's not even remotely true... the US is a massive polluter... but most importantly, even a country that only contributes 1% will still feel 100% of the climate emergency in their region. Incredible weather events aren't going to discriminate... I totally agree with your sentiment. The cities with plenty of water absolutely should not be getting complacent.

Very scary to hear that. People need to get their heads out of their arses....for sure

Yeah, but of course, people won't until it's way too late.
