My First Few PS4 Games… Initial Impressions
I am a late adapter to the PS4. I finally purchased one last November when there was a price cut for Black Friday. Here are my initial impressions of the PS4 games I’ve owned so far after playing them a bit.
If you own a PS4 but not a Nintendo Switch like me and have a yearning to play Breath of the Wild, I think The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt makes a decent substitute. Similarities between the two games that I have thought of include: the style and feel of the graphics, exploring a vast 3D world while armed with a sword, meeting people and being given tasks to complete, and finally the continuing transition from day to night. The strengths of The Witcher 3 are the story and cut scenes including the dialogue as well as the graphics. Its biggest weakness is the actual gameplay and the play control itself is not very tight and is frustrating at times.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is extremely violent. Like literally as violent as a Chucky movie. The game has even given me nightmares. I thought that because I loved Resident Evil 4, I would also like this game. I consider Resident Evil 4 to be one of my favorite video games of all time. In addition, reviews of Resident Evil 7 that I read online were favorable and it also seemed like most people consider Resident Evil 7 to be one of the better Resident Evil games. So I didn’t see any reason why I wouldn’t enjoy playing this game. But I actually dread having to play this game so I’m going to trade it in at Best Buy or GameStop.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a solid action adventure game. I bought it because from the articles I read online, Black Flag is generally considered the best game in the Assassin’s Creed series out of the close to ten games that have been made. The game has beautiful realistic looking graphics and decent play control. It takes place on islands and requires you to sail from island to island so that aspect of it reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The game gives you mission objectives to complete and for many of the objectives stealth is required or at least makes the job much easier.
Black flag was one of the last actual Assassin’s Creed games, with the Rogue being an underrated last :)
Thanks I was thinking about getting Origins someday but maybe now I'll look into getting Rogue instead.
Ubisoft has a massive sale on Steam today, you should check it out
