Seed project update: beyond seed leaves

Cheiridopsis glomerata seedlings.jpg
Cheiridopsis glomerata: the biggest plant is now getting a second set of leaves. I'm really loving these little furry, dotty leaves.

hoodia.jpg
Hoodia gordonii is growing quickly and developing stems that resemble the adult plant. I will need to put these into individual pots soon and I 'm exposing them to more sun so that they can be moved outside for summer. All the growers I have spoken are really surprised that my Hoodia are growing so well, most consider them impossible to grow from seed. My upstairs bathroom, not a hothouse seems to be the main difference between me and them and it just goes to show that just because they come from a very hot, hostile environment, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be treated gently to get them to grow.

haworthia seedlings.jpg
The first Haworthia seedlings are starting to get second and even third leaves and some are showing the beginnings of leaf windows or little teeth. The home-made seeds I sowed from my own pollination are also sprouting, you can see them on the top right.

cacti seedlings.jpg
The baby cacti have tiny thorns. Almost all of them are a cylindrical type but there's one surviving little round one.

p. succulentum.jpg
Pachypodium Succulentum has made a tiny caudex, now it is starting to make a stem.

The tiny green blob of an Adromischus seedling is hanging in there.

Like all babies, they are sooo cute when they are young. :-)

Aren't they! And I feel as proud as any parent :P

Very beautiful plants and so funny. They are so nice to look at.

They make me happy :)

Wow! You truly can do magic!! I have never seen so many small plants like these little cuties! Congrats! I would love to have some of these tiny babies to watch them grow up!

Try growing from seed, it's not that difficult

Handsome babes!
I am very glad that you have succeeded!
We will observe their growth :-))

This is exciting, Nik! Yes, re-pot soon! I do love succulents, but I’m so terrible, I kill them from neglect as well. I am a terrible gardener, cannot even keep a cacti alive. I recently bought a pot of oriental lily and it’s languishing on the front patio...I should probably look closer to see it’s still living. lol

Oh dear. I like to contemplate my plants, that's why I have such odd-looking ones. Then you always remember to water them

You’re a good owner, they should ban me from buying plants...I’m a serial killer for anything that requires ‘watering’. Lol

Babies! :D
Cheiridopsis glomerata looks so cute!

Totally! The little hoodias are also very cute

Yup. And almost look like grow up plants.
The cacti will keep changing. In the beginning most look the same :D

That will be interesting to see

I grew cacti from seed only once. They have such alien shapes and then they gradually become something recognizable. Knowing the science behind it doesn't make it any less amazing.

Exactly!

They are such little cuties!

I'm very proud of my babies :)

Splendid! Awesome colors! I really like this macro❤ Gorgeous work.
Great effects! I love how you shot, looks so awesome. beautiful creativity, love your style.

Thank you!
