Scenes from the 'hood: all the toilet bowls

in #blog6 years ago

I'm not sure what's wrong with the people in my street, they all have cars and the municipal dump is only a few blocks away but this appeared on the street one Friday. I've heard of people putting unwanted furniture on the street for others to utilise but this particular pink throne has a broken outlet pipe. It did have a working seat when first put on the corner and that got taken over the weekend but the pan sat on the corner all weekend until it was presumably removed by council workers on Monday.

Which reminded me of the bowl left on the hill by my neighbours a few months ago... it's still there and I wonder if they think it will ultimately decompose

I recently renovated my bathroom and changed the toilet for a close-couple that doesn't waste water when it is flushed as the bowl was cracked and the old one had a 20 litre cistern. My house was built about 30 years ago and it's mind-boggling to think that people thought it a good idea to waste that much water at the time. The bowl is still sitting in my backyard, to be taken away with the rest of the rubble and I promise not to dump it on the road.

I will probably use the old cistern as a big pot to grow succulents in but I draw the line at beautifying my garden with the the bowl. I've seen pictures of the entire toilet assembled in the garden and full of plants but I think that's even worse idea than the concrete statues I'm so fond of poking fun at

Looks classic and radiant :-)

Had a neighbor that used an old bed frame for a raised bed flower garden....then the toilet was added into it as a 'centerpiece'... glad to know I'm not the only one that doesn't understand their 'art'.

Unfortunately, people themselves pollute the environment. Especially I do not understand those who throw garbage on the road right under their windows. After all, so soon there will be so much rubbish that it will be everywhere. That's just terrible.

Some people here have this idea that their littering provides employment for the others who are paid to clean it up

Your photo is obvious and unbelievable!

You can always count on the human race to leave behind a disgusting mess like that, I can't think of any animal that would do that. Instead of the saying "what a pig" it should be "what a human". a much worse insult.

we destroy our environment , beautiful photography and so sad at the same time.
love your photography style. 🌹❤🌹

Seems for every neat person there is also a slob.

Well now this is odd.. Goes beyond contamination, it's simply random.

If you grow babies there, show them!
