Johannesburg Succulent Society Autumn Show 2019
Today was the start of the succulent show and although I am broke, I couldn't stay at home, especially since growing plants for resale is one of my longer-term goals. As usual, the show plants were great and the light to photograph them in terrible but I got some useable shots. Today, I want to show some of the interesting mesembs:
Some Conophytums
A mixed planting. Conophytums are odd little mesembs that survive in areas which get almost no rain but daily sea fog. So to keep these, you don't water them, you mist them.
Lithops: the pot below is rather old, it takes years for them to form a clump this big
Masters of camouflage
I really liked the teeth on this Faucaria tigrina
Trichodiadema densum as bonsai
A pot of Aloinopsis schooneesii
Tomorrow, I'll show some of the other succulent families
They are truly fascinating plants, particularly the way they emulate stones and pebbles in their environment. If I were an enthusiast, I don't think I'd be able to stay away from a show, either, even if I was broke!
Have fun!
=^..^=
You got it :)
How can get this plants or buy them? What are the health benefits of this to our bodies?

They are native to my country. Some are medicinal but I just like the way that they look
So unusual and at the same time a wonder to behold ;-)
I love 'em!
What a show! fantastic bowls, how old and who knows how much work behind!
Here we are not yet at this level ...
Are you working on it 😉
💪🌵😊
Le felicito, realmente un espectáculo a mis ojos. Excelentes y bellas plantas. Espero las siguientes.
These plants look so weird! They are pretending to be something else as if they are afraid of being eaten by their enemies!
I hope you can have your own plant shop soon!

They will be eaten in a semi-desert environment
Super!
Very interesting plants!
I especially liked on 1 photo.
We will also have a flower show in May! :-)))
That will be good to see
:-))
Wow! Just, wow! I need to get back into succulents. Great photos.
Growing such interesting flowers is probably very difficult and time consuming.
