Home made Hummus

Good morning Steemian!

Here is my base recipe for hummus

It is super healthy, and great as a snack on the go, at work, or on the plane.

Healthy, cuz to me everything I cook and put love into is healthy 😉

Ingredients

  • 100g Chickpea
  • 2 Garlic
  • 1 tbs Tahini (Sesame butter)
  • 2 Tbs Oliva oil
  • 1 Tbs Sesame oil
  • 1 Tsp Dry herbs
  • salt and pepper

Cook the Chickpea

The best trick I can give you is to read the instructions behind the bag of chickpea you bought, otherwise it's like any other peas, soak them in water overnight, change water next morning and boil them with 4 liter of salted water for about an hour.

I'm putting all ingredients together, but I use only half of my chickpea. Then fill up of water to be just over my solid ingredient. The goal is to crush them to get a smooth texture and then add progressively the rest of the chickpea to get the right texture. If it's too stiff, add some water to smooth it out gradually.

This is nutrition facts for the whole recipe, you can multiply by 0.1 for a portion

From this recipe you can then go north to south, adding pesto, roasted peppers, more garlic, name it!

Be creative!!! Improvise!!!

That's cool. Gosh knows we go thru a lot of hummus in my house and usually not bought on sale. Finding that particular butter might be the tricky part for us but would love to give this a whirl. Thanks nickskywalker

You can put more oliva oil and sesam oil, it will taste the same!

Ma recette est assez similaire à la tienne... et tu as bien raison, c'est tellement meilleur fait maison! Plein d'amour, c'est le top (mais évite d'y mettre trop de "coeur"... ça peut donner un arrière-goût! :P)

Great one,.. This will help to cut down on our cholestral levels with the presence of garlic in it,It's cool also good for the heart and our bones as well with the help of olive oil.
