Wish You Were Here

Nel 1975 i Pink Floyd pubblicarono l’album Wish You Were Here al suo interno troviamo due brani , uno è quello che è anche il titolo del disco e l’altro Shine on You Crazy Diamond , ”continua a brillare pazzo diamante” entrambi esplicitamente dedicati al vecchio membro della band Syd Barrett.

Il chitarrista David Gilmour come anche Roger Waters spesso raccontano nelle interviste di alcuni particolari legati a quel “Diamante Pazzo” , una persona che era arrivata al punto che durante i concerti al posto di recarsi nel luogo dell’evento per iniziare il concerto vagava per le vie della città , o quando invitati ad un famoso show televisivo inglese alla promessa di non svelare che avrebbero cantato in playback Syd aprì la bocca e per diversi secondi restò immobile tenendola spalancata e facendo delle smorfie , solo dopo alcuni minuti i compagni realizzarono chi fosse e guardandosi negli occhi si resero conto che il “Diamante Pazzo” che ricordavano ormai non esisteva più.

Come uno spettro, l’ex chitarrista svaniva nel nulla senza lasciare traccia, facendo capire quanto lui, in realtà, fosse assente da tutto, anche da sé stesso.
Come dicevo nell’album c’è la conosciutissima “Wish You Were Here” , una ballata cantata da un Gilmour sofferente e commosso ed è anche il malinconico addio della band a Syd.

Non hanno mai ammesso che “wish you were here” era un riferimento a Syd , ma certi passaggi della canzone sono palesemente riconducibili a lui , …. “vorrei che noi tutti fossimo qui insieme, anche con la mente”.

Ognuno ascoltandolo può interpretarlo a suo modo , le sensazioni che sente più sue , ma sicuramente resta un brano molto bello sia musicalmente che sul piano del testo.
“Vorrei Che Tu Fossi Qui” miglior titolo non poteva esserci per segnalare la mancanza di un qualcosa di una persona chiusa nella sua totale assenza.

In 1975 the Pink Floyd released the album Wish You Were Here inside there are two tracks,one is also the title of the album and 'other Shine on You Crazy Diamond, "continues to shine crazy diamond" both explicitly dedicated to the old member of the band Syd Barret.

Everyone listening to him can interpret it in his own way, the sensations he feels most like his, but surely it remains a very beautiful piece both musically and on the level of the text.

"I wish you were here" best title could not be there to signal the lack of something of a person closed in his total absence.
