Nha Trang Beach City has been a way too familiar name with backpacking travelers to the point that many doubt if there is even anything left to discover and experience here. No offense but you may have been very much mistaken thinking the same and accidentally passed on some places that once reached, you have no choice but to utter the words “So amazing.” One of those locations is no other than Hon Noi Island.

Hon Noi Island, with a more familiar name called Hon Yen, is located in Nha Trang Bay. The distance from Cau Da Dock to here is around 25 kilometers, and the Island seems to isolate itself from the more commonly known islands like Hon Tre, Hon Tam, Hon Mieu or Tri Nguyen Aquarium. This is part of the reason why so few tourists have learned about Hon Noi and managed to find their way to such place.

Aside from the imposingly spacious scenery, the strongest impression of visitors who have ever set foot on Hon Noi Island is its unique twin shores in Vietnam (also found somewhere else in Thailand). A flat white sandbank is spread along over 100 meters, accompanied by two separate symmetrical beaches, one cold and the other lukewarm caused by different sea currents.

The peak of Du Ha Mountain with a height of 90 meters is where you can capture with your own eyes the overall exquisiteness of the island with the twin shores as the focal point. Currently, there has not been any option for tourists to arrive at Hon Noi on their own other than a full day tour service since the Island is under the management of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company and it is not yet allowed to stay here overnight.

The Hon Noi Island 1-day tour service includes a sightseeing voyage, breakfast, and lunch at the restaurant on the island as well as riding a glass bottom boat to see the coral reefs; this goes without mentioning a must-have bath at these exclusive twin shores. The nearby Hon Noi and Hon Ngoai are Vietnam’s two biggest sources of salangane nests. Tourists can take their time to study and observe the actual collecting of salangane nests, a highly demanding and dangerous job that requires utmost bravery and strength from partakers.

Notably, the exploration of Hon Noi Island is not always possible and usually only feasible between March and September thanks to the calm weather. Other than this period, it is the storm season that prevents the tour to take place. Hence, make sure to check out related information before planning your trip to Hon Noi Island.
