A new not identified comet seeps through the Steemsphere! Come in to pronounce your wishes!

Previously, I have written a self-introduction in Spanish, and later, another one in German. This week I decided the time has come for English. Nonetheless, I know I have got ever in mind that it could be good to empathize a little bit with my adversaries, so I rather talk less about myself, in spite of being certainly an interesting, and furthermore, a mind-blowing matter to talk about myself (if I was you I wanna be me too). In fact, I am a favourite subject for entertains.

Well, really I do not want to translate my prior entries in order to write some important facts I have not written of before. I have said to you in the above paragraph that I am a quite interesting guy, what is seemingly the same than hard to get run out.

My username is the exact Old Irish Gaelic word meaning "reed". I have chosen it because the reed is the sign under I was supposedly born according to the Celtic Tree Zodiac. In the Antiquity, reeds used to be linked to death (it was so, e. g. among the Aztecs, the Greeks, and the ancient Egyptians), and in the Eastern Mediterranean it was a symbol of royalty. As for the Celts, they considered the lagoons which ranks of reeds surrounded, as entrances of the hereafter. By chance "ngetal" is an acronym of the name my parents gave to me.

I was born in Valencia, the third largest city in Venezuela by number of dwellers. I learned to read at the age of three and since then I have believed that I was born for a writer. During high school, I knew I would enter the university to become an Anthropologist, what I am now, but by this very time I planned that I would also make efforts to get a degree in English Literature thereafter, though to be honest, I do not when. It is a pending task. As a teen, I have read many classical books; they came most of all from Argentina, Germany, and the USA, so I got fond of the literature of these countries, and as a consequence, I learnt English and German to read the works in their original languages.

Despite my birth in Valencia, I grew up in a village in the mountains. This is called Nirgua, and it is very well known because it is Maria Lionza's so-called birthplace and one of the oldest villages in Venezuela. This is famous for the spiritualist practices, and for being the place where two important warlocks of the Maria Lionza cult once lived.

I graduated of anthropology just a month ago. I studied linguistics and historical anthropology at the university. Right now I am busy with my research on the history of a quartier of prominent people in Caracas, which demands my visits in public and private archives to learn more from the past. Although I prefer to study languages, especially since I think language is the basis of culture. I speak four European languages and a little two indigenous languages of Venezuela and its neighbouring states. The people who speak these languages call them Warao a ribu, and Wuottüjja tihuene, respectively.

I think the most high purpose of my work is learning with indigenous peoples. I always hope my research is for the sake of these peoples. But I am also interested in urban anthropology, and that is the reason I work on the history of a upper-middle and high class neighbourhood in East Caracas, named "Los Chorros" (English 'The water jets', 'The spurts') after a waterfall coming down from a hill north of the city, whose river was formerly the favourite spa of the rich. Here below an aerial photograph from 1938.

I live in a country where life is very hard (I mean, for everyone who is not of the high class, which still exists, and is quite powerful in Venezuela, regardless of that what mainstream social media may say). Of course, our government is equally terribly inmoral and corrupt. This is really a distressful condition we are caught up in. However, I try to discover the beauty amidst dirt. Often I remember the lotus flower along with Buddha's words:

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional

I dream of travelling. I want to fly to India and other countries. This is a country that I find fantastic because of the people's sparkling with joy, no matter how strong famine and want of other kind of means is. I guess we still have much to learn from it, and from our present situation wherever we are.

This is me the one in the photo below. Certainly I have got time for banality: you know everything in the world is not about studying and working, do you not? I believe my banality increases as you notice it is a selfie... May selfies have got not much to do with art, but I justify them by asking 'if you cannot love yourself, how the hell you can love somebody else?' Art is no technical know-how, art is me. A sort of ancient Greek or Pre-Raphaelite work of art... Haha haha haha! (Trust me, I can laugh at myself).

Guys I just met you, and I am aware of our meeting's craziness, but I shall give you my number, if you want to call me maybe... hum... no, we are going too fast! Anyhow, I am here and here will I remain to offer my services.

I hope you like my self-introduction. Please take some minutes to say welcome! The only thing left for me to say I leave it in the hands (or voices) of the makers of the following video. See you all soon!
