The Browns have won 1 game in 2 years — and they have better Super Bowl 53 odds than 4 teams
It’s been a good offseason for the Cleveland Browns so far. One could even argue the team had the most productive month in the NFL in March.
But it’s still a little jarring to see that four NFL teams — the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, and New York Jets — have worse odds at winning Super Bowl 53 in the latest line released by Bovada. After all, the Browns have just one win in the Hue Jackson era, which began over 26 months ago.
Cleveland has +6600 (66-to-1) odds at winning the Lombardi Trophy in February on the site. That’s the same chance Bovada is giving Washington, the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills. The Jets are the extreme long shot at +10000 (100-to-1).
The Browns started March by trading to acquire quarterback Tyrod Taylor, wide receiver Jarvis Landry and defensive back Damarious Randall. Cleveland supplemented those additions by signing running back Carlos Hyde, offensive tackle Chris Hubbard, and cornerback T.J. Carrie in free agency.
While the loss of Joe Thomas to retirement hurts, the Browns still have five picks in the first two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft — including picks No. 1 and 4 — to keep adding talent.
So it’s a good time to be optimistic about the Browns. But there’s probably better ways to spend your money than place that Super Bowl bet.
Damn it...I saw your post headline and was praying my Bears wouldnt be one of the 4 teams. I kinda thought they might be, but was holding out hope...but of course, they are one of them! Another long season for us Bears fans :(
