I live in Ukraine and almost every second family in our country produces different jams for the winter. We prepare raspberry, strawberry, apricot and, of course, apple. Also with black and red currants, plums and even dandelions.

There is a bucket of strawberries and you need to make jam out of it to eat in the cold winter with tea and remember the summer.

The recipe is simple.
For one kilogram of strawberry peeled from the tails - 1 kg. Sahara.
All this is digested and rolled into sterilized cans.
All.

  1. So we clean the strawberries from the tails.
  2. We wash it in cold water.
  3. Pour into the cooking container. Preferably stainless steel. But at the moment we used an aluminum pan, which is not good.
  4. We fall asleep strawberries half of the put sugar.
For example, there is 3 kg. Strawberries, then fall asleep 1.5 kg. Sahara. And put on a couple of hours to make the strawberry let the juice.
Stirring is not necessary, so that the berries do not choke.
  5. After two or three hours put on a slow fire. And bring to a boil.
  6. Pour out the rest of the sugar and turn it off.
  7. We are waiting for the strawberry to cool down to room temperature.
  8. Again put on the fire and simmer 5-7 minutes on a slow fire.
    All the jam is ready.
How boiled strawberries are fashionable to look at the video.

In the process between the first and second boiling, we prepare the cans.

First, wash my jars with plain water and put the neck down to drain.

Next, clean and washed cans are sterilized. Here is a machine for sterilizing cans. Usual pan and lining under cans. The pot is poured water and boils over low heat. There we put the lids to make them cook.

When the banks all sterilized - 5 minutes for each jar. We put them on the fabric neck up and cover with clean cooked lids.
Everything is ready with the banks.

And what about the photo in the cans?

This is a special key for rolling cans.
In this case, I use it since there was a lot of time.
If you need to do everything faster - we take other banks and other covers. Which just twist and that's it.

Now take very carefully in the gloves jam and put it in a jar. Jam should boil a little - then everything will be all right. Since the jar with boiling jam is hot, I use a plate to hold cans.

All now we roll up a special key with jars and put the jam wrapped in a blanket or a towel until it cools down completely. Put the lid down.

Now our family will eat in the winter delicious strawberry jam and recall the summer.

Bon Appetit.

Nice concise way to cook a jam. Great of you to provide supporting images and video as well! Hopefully I could purchase some strawberries one of these days so that I could try this out.
