The autonomous test vehicle of Mobileye NV

During a test in October in which a Bloomberg reporter occupied the passenger seat, the car was incorporated into highway traffic. Then, when the drivers were reluctant to allow him to change lanes - something very common in the streets of Israel - he made the maneuver smoothly but firmly.

In the 20 minutes of the test, the driver did not touch the steering wheel or the brake even once.

Mobileye's autonomous vehicle is part of Intel Inc.'s attempt to participate in that technology. Intel bought the Israeli company for about US $ 15,000 million in 2017. Companies such as BMW AG and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV also plan to use Mobileye technology in their autonomous vehicles.

We are getting very close to autonomous technology breaking into the car market.  So far it has been in fits and spurts but the guys like Tesla and Waymo are really pushing ahead.
