One morning, officers from the Montebello Police Department in California received a call from the Bank of America complaining about the riots caused by a customer, an event that was not extraordinary until the officers arrived at the branch and discovered that the controversial client was an old man of 92 years.
The man was trying to withdraw money, but his ID had expired, an indispensable requirement in the bank’s policy. The staff told him he could not perform the operation and this angered the old man, who began to protest, before what the staff decided to call the police.
The agent who took charge of the situation took a decision that has gone viral on social networks, where this story was disseminated. The policeman accompanied the man on the arm to renew his ID in the police station, to later take him back to the bank so he could withdraw his money.
“All that this old man wants is to maintain his independence, and the officer helped him in a dignified way, good job, agent!”, The Montebello Police Department wrote on his Facebook profile.
