Steemit Engagement Challenge / S19/W1 - "Power of communication skill"
Introduction
Hello my wonderful steemian, am so glad to be here. This is one of the best engagement challenge this week. I will share my ideas and I hope it will help some people. I wish you all the best in this challenge.
Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?
For me I agree with this statement "Communication skill is the power." Good communication is very important for building relationships, sharing ideas, and inspiring others. This makes individuals to express themselves very well, and also understanding each other and work together to accomplish the goals. For me I will say, In both personal and professional settings, individuals who have strong communication skills has a good advantage in getting their goals.
Can you provide an example of situation where "Communication skill is the power"?
Good communication is present in some situations, mainly at workplace. Imagine a situation where a team is working on something,( it may be a big project) and there's a fight about the best approach. A team member with a strong communication skills can solve the problems immediately. By doing that, he or she hasn’t only solve the problem but also create an environment where team members feel comfortable and welcome. With this it has solved the problems at hands immediately. Lastly in this kind of problem the human being with a good communication skills has power over them to bring that team back to good shape.
Some historical examples where "Communication skill is the power" led to significant change?
There are some historical examples where the power of communication skills led to good change. One of the important examples is this communication skills is the Civil Rights Movement which is in the United States. With powerful speeches, protests, and even media campaigns, big leaders like “Martin Luther King Jr. “and “Malcolm X “ this people were able to raise awareness about the discrimination and were able to bring millions to join the fight for their freedom. Their ability to communicate freely really helped to bring social and political changes in the country.
How can one improve their communication skills ?
In my understanding and opinion, for someone to improve their communication skills, he or she can start practicing good listening, which it need 100% concentration, understanding message, and responding very well. It's very important to be clear and be yourself when expressing your feelings, avoiding jargon that the listener may not even understand. Also to add, Nonverbal communication, which can be body language and tone of voice, this should also be considered. Moreover, reading books on communication, attending workshops, and seeking information from others can help in involving communication skills.
