Steemit and the need for an update

I just joined steemit two weeks ago and i really like it. I enjoy the choice of anonymity, the use of block-chain technology and the positive energy of steemit users. I believe steemit has a huge potential and it can be a blend of instagram, twitter, facebook, reddit etc, but without a multinational making profit over our backs. Together we are creating a new way of making news and sharing information, but the steemit platform is in desperate need for an update. A few points of improvement:

  • The use of google to search on steemit is really annoying.
  • Why use hashtags if we cannot browse through them, for example i want to go to #trump, then i have to type it in the browser to get there.
  • Personal messages to other users might be a good add-on.
  • A smooth mobile app.
  • I see post with more likes than views, it means that users upvote without reading the post. Easy to change.
  • An 'about' section, where you can describe yourself, it can be a link to the post 'introduceyourself' as well.

Please comment for more suggestions, i will add them to the list.

    You are right the search form needs to be updated badly but one thing you might not know there is a steemit chat where you can send other users messages privately I believe. That could be improved on too but it works.

    Yeah, the search form is not only annoying but also kind of useless, it would be my number 1 issue for improvement. So far i haven't found a steemit chat, if it exists, it should be placed in the general menu.

      I have been using the steemit app for over a month and find it very user-friendly so far. I have not posted from it as of yet (all of my posts come from laptop or tablet) but maybe someday I will actually use app to make original post.
      It's nice when I'm on the go and want to comment back.

      thanks for the comment, i agree with you that the website is user friendly but i see some easy possibilities for improvement. About an app, similar as facebook, twitter or gmail, you can use the mobile website, but the app is more convenient to use.
