Into the Horizon

I think the Steem community has come to a turning point as we begin to leave the past behind us and look forward into the horizon. My lifestyle has been full of busy times that do not always allow me to relax and ponder. I find myself often having to multitask in order to achieve everything I want to do. Most of the time that I do spend reflecting is when I am out for a run or a walk. However, couple of weeks ago the family was invited to the beach and as incredible as it may sound after a couple of years of moving to Florida it was the first time we had gone to the beach. While it was nothing like the beaches in Puerto Rico, it reminded me of the little things in life that are not only free but also valuable in our experiences.

It was a great time to look at the family and see the lives that we created with each other. It was also a good time to look around and consider where we have left yet to go. I stared quite often into the horizon in the ocean to consider our futures. While we often focus on things that we measure like wealth, jobs, education, and many other things, I think that is the experiences in life that we should look forward to. The journey I have come to experience and my time on the platform has been and illuminating one as I have got to see life in the eyes of others with different perspectives and situations. This has led me to continue to be adamantly grateful for what I have been able to accomplish so far. It also leads me to be anxious of where our future lies.

During my run this morning, I was able to hear the latest video from @theycallmedan. I had been reading from many users that it was a great motivational video and had been looking forward to hearing it. They were absolutely right as not only can you feel the well-versed passion that he has for our ecosystem but also the potential of what it can be in the future. I have often felt that the future is now as we have the opportunity to build and create a foundation for generations to come. We have today the ability to help and support others on their own journeys. While some journeys are much better off than others, we can look to ourselves in the community to create initiatives and projects to help the journeys of others.

I continue to believe that the smaller users and those just getting started are the future to our ecosystem. They will be the ones that create and consume the content that generates interest in our community and attracts not only businesses and investments but also developers to build them. If we are able to engage with the resources we have and help them onboard, the ability to create value from the bottom will initiate the momentum and snowball effect of the ecosystem.

The #tenkminnows initiative is a great example of one of those that are getting started today that we should all look to support and faster. It is the first time that I have joined a curation trail and have already seen a number of soon to be Minnows creating content and signing up to grow. The token economy here is being built to be one of abundance despite the views of scarcity and the declining inflation that we see from the token. I do not focus on the structural issues but instead believe that the focus should shift from having a bigger piece of the pie to making sure that the pie itself expands. That provides an incentive for all to engage and add value to the ecosystem.

Please consider supporting the #tenkminnows initiative by engaging with that community and see the potential of these content creators that are remaining committed to our ecosystem and driving value across it. If we look into the horizon, we will be able to see the future of a vibrant ecosystem of abundance with opportunities for everyone.
