Contest Winners for favorite 90's Sci-Fi film

This was a tough one to judge and I hope that nobody takes it personally if they didn't win. In an effort to reduce hurt feelings I am going to award some level of SBD reward to everyone that participated. I enjoy when we have some interaction in this community and feel as though these incentives can get people to communicate a bit more

1st place @krabistu for What Is The Matrix? 4SBD

I think that most people would agree that The Matrix was a truly groundbreaking film. It is beloved by almost everyone, even people that are not fans of science fiction. What I enjoyed about the writeup is that all of the rules were followed and it got straight to the point addressing how he (I'm presuming you're a "he") felt about the film, rather than giving us a story synopsis.

One of my favorite lines in the writeup was this

Naturally the 2nd and 3rd Matrix films I thought sucked and I doubt I will bother seeing the 4th

I don't necessarily agree with this sentiment but anything that makes me laugh because so many other people feel the same way, sits well with me.

2nd place @peerynt with Brave New World (1998) 3SBD

What hit me about this writeup was the fact that I don't think I have ever seen this film or even heard of it and what @peerynt did was get me interested in seeing it because of his personal feelings about the film rather than telling the entire story. The writeup was perfect in that it tells you just enough about the plot to get you interested, but not too much as to spoil any of the story. He also uses a very intelligent way of writing that is very thought-provoking (and again, I am presuming you are a he and if I am wrong, my apologies.)

For those others that participated, nearly everyone did a good job and I hope that no one feels hurt if they weren't chosen for the top spots. I am rewarding everyone who participated as a "thank you" for getting involved. I enjoyed reading almost all of the entries and in the future we can have many more of them if enough people are interested.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of people that kind of ignored the rules of the contest and rather than tell me what you personally thought of the film and how it personally affected you, instead focused on a retelling of the story, which was specifically mentioned as something I was not looking for in the "rules" of the contest

I am more interested in your personal feelings about the film rather than hearing about the plot

Regardless, I still rewarded everyone who did basically anything with some level of reward and thank you for trying!

Thanks to everyone that made an entry, there was a lot of information in there that has inspired me to go back and re-watch some films and in the case of Brave New World to see the film for the very first time ever.
