Doesn't that only refer to people that are using the command line prompts for purchase and transfer? You can use the metamask interface for much easier purchase and claim of your tokens or even use their instructions for myetherwallet that are listed on the site.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it may not be necessary to use the command line if you have the ability to use one of the other options.
A thing that bothers me is that I clicked the GENERATE EOS KEY few times and each time it was giving me different private and public keys. Should I assume that the ones that are valid are the last ones I've copied?
Sorry for the late reply, maybe you've figured it out by now. You have to process the transaction by sending 0 ETH + the suggested GAS price in order for the keys to be finalized. So if you haven't done that yet, the keys aren't registered. If you have, they will stay on the page (assuming you're using the metamask/ chrome app.

So i then sent them to myetherwallet because i had the ETH available for the gas price. I immediately realized that was probably a horrible idea. Now the EOS are missing. They didn't arrive in myetherwallet, probably because I registered the EOS key in metamask. I didn't buy much. But if anyone can help me retrieve my EOS, I will gladly send them 10 EOS.

Not sure, I follow. You paid the ETH to buy EOS, using which wallet, Metamask or MyEtherWallet?
The wallet that you sent the ETH from to get EOS, is the Address where you have EOS. Next, you need to use that wallet, to register your public key, also you need to do a third transaction to claim your tokens from that wallet. Without claiming tokens, your EOS will not show up, even though they are inside the contract still. They are not automatically sent out when a window closes, you have to process a transaction to claim them using gas.
To do all this in metamask, just take your MyEtherWallet private key that is in that system, and metamask will let you load up other accounts into MetaMask using a private key. Very likely, if you login to the EOS.IO system using the correct account that the ETH was sent from with MetaMask, the "Claim Tokens" button will be highlighted, letting you claim the tokens.
I appreciate the reply. I figured it out. I had the tokens in myetherwallet, yet when I had added the custom token into MEW, I used the wrong address. Found the right address, and now they are in myetherwallet. Stupid mistake, but i didn't lose anything in the process.
