THE DIARY GAME || SEASON3-THE NON-STOPING SEASON-@nehklaus -WEDNESDAY, 21/10/2020 - MY FIRST "WAR" EXPERIENCE

in SteemAlive4 years ago (edited)

Hello guys, how are you all doing? I hope you guys are OK. Everyone in Aba, especially those alone the axis of Cameroon barracks and CPS definitely understood what it feels like to be in a warzone. I'm going to relate my experience.

Started off just like another day, same morning routine and everything else but there was one exception; the previous day 20/10/2020 had seen a whole lot of violence and bloodbath, both in Aba and in the country at large. Due to that incident, I had already decided to stay at home. So I made preparations, went to the ATM to withdraw but surprisingly all ATM machines were down, literally none was dispensing cash. I had to go to a POS center to withdraw, then I went with some friends to get fuel. On our way home, we got a call that there had been some gunshots and we had to hurry home. We live around one of the most notorious police stations in Aba; Cameroon barracks. When I got home, it was all calm and all until 11am. That was when we heard our first series of gunshots. After a while, it all calmed down. We realized that we were missing some food stuffs from the market. I offered to make a quick run there but my mom refused. I told my dad about it, got some money and ran to the market. My mom never realized that I had left and thankfully she didn't because of what happened next. On my way home, came the next phase. I ran to a nearby building, went inside and that was when the shit show began. It all started after a police man harassed an old man and shot him at point blank range. Though I was enraged, I couldn't do anything. When people saw what happened, they attacked the police man, killing him and that's when the shit show began. The police attacked them, shooting at the and ended up killing four people there. After minutes of intense shooting, it finally died down a bit and I made my way home. After I got home, I went straight to my room, went to my bed and tried to sleep. But I was still too angry at what I had just witnessed. So I played music with my earphones until finally I slept off. When I woke up by 3pm, I was told that there was another phase which someone was killed right outside of the house. I just shrugged and went in to play video games online. I played for hours until I finally got hungry. I went out again, bought noodles and egg and went back home, prepared it and ate.

The noodles and eggs

After eating, I watched anime till 11pm. I tried sleeping again but I couldn't, so I decided to play music. Then I texted a friend whom I hadn't heard from throughout the day, and when she called back my mind was finally at peace that she's alive and safe, because I was damn worried. I went back to watching anime till 3am before I switched to listening to music and streaming the internet. Finally by 4am, I started feeling dizzy.
So that was how I spent yesterday. And it's something I don't want to experience again.

I hope today will be better, so please remain safe guys.

@nehklaus, it is so heartbreaking seeing the kind of maltreatment the masses goes through in the hand of the police and so called government. But I'm glad the Nigerian youth had woken up. Though it's not going to be easy fighting for our rights. Blood will sure be split, but I believe God, we will sure get our right back.
