With two draws remaining, Marc Marquez's chances of embracing the 2017 MotoGP world title in the Malaysian series are wide open. The Baby Alien just needs to finish right behind Dovizioso on the series.

Currently Marquez has collected 269 points or 33 points ahead of the new Dovizioso collect 236 points. If Marquez ends the race in the Malaysian series just behind Dovizioso, the distance of both maximum will only be cut five points. That is, both remain within 28 points. With the rest of one race alone, Dovizioso certainly could not overtake Marquez, even if in the final series he ended the race in first position and Marquez failed to finish. This is because the champion one race series on MotoGP will only get an additional 25 points.

If you can not follow or beat Dovizioso in Malaysia though, Marquez championship opportunities will remain wide open. He at least quite finished in seventh position in two remaining series. The reason, two finishes in the sequence will make the incision points Marquez added 18 points or to 287. The achievement is clearly impossible pursued Dovizioso, even if the Italian rider won the remaining two series. If the first finish in the remaining two series, the points that Dovizioso will collect is 287, one lower than Marquez's worst.

Reviewing the situation, Marquez clearly in a position far more favored, especially if you see the positive trend that always entered the podium in the last four series. However, The Baby Alien is reluctant to relax. He will still target the best position in the two remaining series.

On the other hand, Dovizioso himself did not surrender even though his championship chance is fairly small. The Ducati team rider confirmed that in the next series he will focus on fighting desperately.

"Currently we have to think about the series in Malaysia, we will give the best we can and show it all out," said Dovizioso.

Malaysia's MotoGP race itself is scheduled to take place at Sepang Circuit, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (29/10/2017). Free training sessions and qualifying will take place two and one day before the race begins.
