My first presentation in Steemit
Hello to all Steemit members.
My name comes from the Greek words níke (victory) and laos (people) and means "The victory of the people" or "the victor of the people". In fact, my most distant ancestors were surely citizens of Ancient Greece and later of the Roman Empire.
I was born in Latin America as a result of the loss of the Second World War by the Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis and the occupation of those territories by the Allied Powers.
From my childhood I felt great attraction for the order, discipline and uniformity of the military world. Documentaries transmitted in black and white by the local television about the Spanish Civil War and the Second World War increased my interest in joining the Armed Forces. At the same time, I liked the police function because I considered it more necessary in times of peace. Once I finished my secondary education, I soon joined the Uniformed Police Force of Public Order and Security, where for a decade I enjoyed a brilliant career.
While working as a Uniformed Police I had the opportunity to study at the University and obtain a degree in administration. Then I did a Master's Degree in Finance and became the second Officer in charge of an Administrative Division. Due to an event of a political nature, with which I did not totally agree, I was forced to resign from my position. It was an emotional situation very difficult for me because I never saw the police being as a job but as a way of life. I worked very hard and without limit of schedules for many years, sacrificing my personal and family life. I practically wore my uniform day and night, as well as my arms and ammunition. This situation made it difficult for me to adapt to a civil life.
Later, I worked in private banking as a Money Laundering Prevention and Control Analyst, until I got back into the service of the Ministry of the Interior, this time as an Advisor in the fight against Corruption and eventually in State Security cases as an Intelligence Officer.
After a couple of years, the political scene of the country was again altered and everything began to deteriorate rapidly, so I made the decision to emigrate to Europe. The adaptation process was very hard, especially in the workplace because I went from being a professional with a good job to being an unqualified worker, working with former inmates and people of low intellectual and cultural level. Despite these drawbacks, the quality of life in Europe is superior to that of any country in South America and it is worth changing.
I have always been fascinated by the seizure of power by force of arms and in my youth I would have voluntarily accompanied this type of adventure. However, I have come to the conclusion that Revolutions tend to be carried out with ideological elements and logistical support from foreign powers, even if their leaders deny it.
A far-left government is capable of turning a rich nation into a miserable one in a few years while a far-right government can put order in the country and generate wealth through good planning and fiscal discipline. The speeches of the extreme left reach the heart of the working class but promote laziness and envy. The extreme right, on the other hand, promotes work and the development of the country.
