The Top of Merbabu Mountain: A Struggle Story

Without mountainering, we moved slowly to climb up one of mountains in Central Java. The mountain was called Merbabu. I don’t know why it was called in such. May be it was the name of the mountain located or originated from Java language. Merbabu is the second mountain that I have ever conquered, two years ago I have been in the peak of Sikunir, in Dieng Wonosobo. But, it was really different, it was really an amazing adventure.

After parking our motorcycle at the parking area, about 10 people begin on climbing. The weather is very supported at that time. With the rising sun, we prepared all of our simply stock. Although, it was rain in a while. But, it didn’t make us not to yield an inch, we still on targeted.

Then, I started looking for my bag that I have entrusted to someone. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the bag after cheking it. So, my soulmate told me that the bag was left behind. I was very dissappointed by the side, but actually I will be free of carrying the innate things. Found time to be happy, but it turned out to be a responsible of a tent and watery. So, unlikely I have to carry out it for the team, because it was impossible to come back to the place.

My soulmate who felt error said to me “dont worry, you may benefitted mine”. After hearing it, I calmed down. I thougt, it was the meaning of togetherness. Unforgetfuly, each of us bought thin raincoat for safety. The mountainer stepped up with fully equipped except me. After pulling away the base camp, we begin to take first moment (photo gathering) at the gate. On the way, we enjoyed the scenery very much. So, we were not be patient to reach the top.

When we arrived at the firts post, it was called dok malang. We took a rest at the moment and then moved. To go through the mountain that has around 3142 mdpl high level made us to think seriously for the second opportunity. One memorable that I was very annoyed. To carry many water in the bottle. But, we have to overcome this matter by drinking it little by little. We don’t mind that water is very important, we have just cared about how to reach a top as the destiny.

Accidentally, the team separated into two groups, we were separated before reaching the third post. But, it was no matter because there were who has more experienced on it. And I included the first team. With youthfully, we reached Sabana post and took a rest there. We enjoyed our night time thankfulness. It was stone cold, we couldn’t breath easily.

At the crack of dawn, we prepared the power to the last stoppage. With the residue of the power, most of us (there were many who has too tired to go ahead) started walking, even running as how beautiful the place. As if the eye dont want to close. All of barriers have been overcome by the praying and struggling. And finally, we reached the top with a happy smile. But then we have to take a rest until three days, waiting for the power recharge.
