And unfortunately when half of the whales arrived they were dead, while the rest was sacrificed due to the difficulty to access the site and refloat them, explained the operations manager in Rakiura of the Ministry of Conservation of New Zealand, Ren Leppens. The most humane thing was to sacrifice them because they did not have enough help to return them to the sea and to let them suffer was an evil.
