Chittagong College
Chittagong College is a beautiful and one of the oldest Government college in Bangladesh. It's located in Chawkbazar area. It is the 2nd college established Bangladesh after Dhaka College. Chittagong College offers Higher Secondary Education (HSC), bachelor's degree, master's degree.
Chittagong College first college in the greater chittagong area, was established as Chittagong Zila School in 1836. Thirty-three years later, it was upgraded to an intermediate college in 1869.The first principal was J C Bose. It started providing science education in intermediate section from the 1909. From From then it started providing honours
degrees on Arabic, Bengal, Pali, Sanskrit,
History, Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry.
After 9 Years it's mean 1919 it started courses on English, Economics, and Philosophy. There is a Muslim Chattrabash now known as Sher-e-Bangla Chattrabas which was established by The Great Man Sher-e Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq in 1926. In 1971 when the Liberation War was going on many student of Chittagong college was participated on it.*
At present, the college has more than 17000 students and 134 teachers. There are 20 sections on human and science to study here respectively viz, Bangla, English, Economics, Political Science, History, Islamic History and Culture, Philosophy, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Pali, Sanskrit, Urdu and Psychology etc.

College ground
The college has a large ground known as Parade Ground. In this five acre ground students from the college and from other colleges play cricket, football, and volleyball. BNCC (Bangladesh National Cadet Corps) use the ground.
