How to draw realistic drawing

in #drawing7 years ago

For a first attempt at realistic drawing that is pretty
good. You have managed to get most of the proportions accurate and the rendering seems to be off to a good start.

However there are a few things you should consider before you get down to fixing that nose. When you select an image for sketching, make sure it has good contrast, which means significant difference between light and dark tones so it stands out.

Something like the image below. Initially since you're practicing, you can use any pencil. Later on you can practice with different lead pencils, which range from 9H(lightest) to 9B(darkest).

The next step, if you're not good with proportions, would be to draw a grid over the image. You could also practice by drawing objects around you. Live drawing and drawing from a photograph are two different things. So you may need to practice with both in order to improve your drawing.

This is how the grid would look. Draw it at the same scale on the image as well as on the paper you're going to sketch on.

Do not start rendering until you're sure the angles and proportions seem accurate.
If you're having trouble with them, you can draw the lines and angles on the photograph along with the grid. By doing so you can easily see the difference between the nose in the photograph and the one that you made. For instance how far it goes before it bends and at what angle. You can actually break down the object to basic shapes and lines and see where you're going wrong with it. When your observational skills improve with practice you will be able to see all the simple shapes and lines in objects around you.

Here's another method of getting the proportions right. Look at the image from a different perspective, rotate it upside down. Now you don't see what your preconceived notions tell you, all you see are volumes and shapes with different tones. So if you were repeating the same mistake before, now you might be able to correct it.

I am also not good in this stuff. But my friend helped me thanks you...

Well i hope that helped, good luck with sketching!
