They play an important role in pollination this is critical for the reproduction of most flowering plants and many crops. Insects can also act as biocontrol because they feed on pests that are damaging crops and fruits in the gardens. In addition, some insects assist in turning the soil, breaking it and improving fertility through helping to cycle nutrient in the ground. Appreciation of the role of insects in ecosystems can help in proper management of agriculture hence improving proper management of crops.
