Campus Connect Steem Promo and Charity Event at the Pediatric Ward, Jacobu Hospital, Kumasi

Hello all,

It is a beautiful day today and i come your way with a report for our campusconnect charity event which was held today at St. Peter's Catholic Hospital in Jacobu where we made books donations to kids in the pediatric ward who are undergoing different treatments for different conditions.

The Departure

---

The program saw 5 participants including myself, @collinz, @mcsamm, Miss Priscilla and Miss Jemaima. The Journey from Kumasi to our destination would take us almost 2 hours and so to get us to start early and get everything sorted out early before heading back we decided to leave Kumasi at 9am hoping to reach before 11am. We all met at Santasi, in front of the Opoku Ware School and from there we left together.

Arrival and Preparations

We were able to make it in time just as we hoped and by 11 we were already at the hospital. It was quite a large facility with a serene environment, we were directed to the female and childrens ward in their new structure where we unpacked took our stuff upstairs and were greeted by the nurse who was to lead us.

From there we met with the in-charge and the overseers of the facility, we gave our mission and they also gave us consent for the purpose for which we have come. We discuss about steem and how our act here is supported by the blockchain. After discussions we were finally given the go ahead to start up with the program.

The Program

Next, we introduced ourselves to the mothers and their wards, then we explain our mission for been there, we shared 3 categories of books, first was our promosteem branded exercise books, next was a coloring books to keep the kids busy and the last one was a reading book to keep the kids busy.

After the distribution we had a reading session with the kids where we read and they followed up with a response, we also identified images in during the reading and we had a singing session at the end of the entire read. The smiles on the faces of the mothers were priceless and the kids even though some were in pain you could see they loved the company.

We then had a picture session with everyone including the nurses and directors available and then it was time to say good bye. We prayed for them and wish everyone a speedy recovering, we also encouraged them to make good use of the books and encouraged the nurses to reach out to us concerning steemit.

Departure

---

We went back to board our ride, we took some rice, had a final talk with director and then we left. We had a good chat about what has transpired and we were all very happy about things. Once we got to Kumasi, we bid ourselves a farewell, said our goodbyes with hugs and then we all went to our various homes looking forward to seeing each other again.
