Fellowship
1 Corinthians 1:9, God is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus our Christ.
Fellowship is an association we have with someone. When in a fellowship with some share or participate in an activity or course or goal together. Meaning as Christians called into the fellowship of Christ we share in the goal of the gospel, teaching everyone to know about Christ, to live by his ways, showing them the path that leads to salvation and repentance of sin.
But our fellowship with Christ doesn't just end there. We are made sons and daughters of the most high and in Romans 8:16 we learn that the spirit even bears witness to this fact as we are made joint-heirs in Christ. This takes us to a whole new level of fellowship as Joint-heirs means we share in the Lords gifts and everything else at any point in time. What is his is ours and what is ours is his.
This fellowship we have with Christ transcends our living and death such that even after we have lived on this earth we continue to enjoy this fellowship into paradise. And so brethren lets take our fellowship serious, lets do what ought to be done that the Lord would be proud enough to call us his son and daughter and he our father.
