Help your child develop his or her social skills
How do you develop your child's social skills?
Children love other children and often show extreme tolerance for hijacking and grabbing games. As infants "live for a moment," they are more interested in seeing another child carry their distracted toys instead of feeling irritated by the fact that they have been stolen from them. This starts with a change in your child's second year of life, but children who often play with other children remain relatively tolerant.
Children before the age of 2 do not have real friends or play with children of the same age. But they tend to sit side by side and do the same things. They respond to the friendship of others - they love to play with older children - but they do not yet know how to make friends themselves. This skill develops in children between the ages of two and three years, but even at the age of three, your child may be attracted to toys played by other children rather than to these particular children.
From age 3 onwards, children are more and more likely to choose activities because they want to be with a specific child
Are some children born shy?
There seems to be a genetic element of shame. Although most young children do not shrink from strangers, some are more shy than others. All children go through a period in which they are related to the caregiver, but some are more difficult to attach and may be longer than others. There is always a child who does not want to stay alone in the ceremony, as there is always another child who starts without being alerted. Shame is one of the qualities that accompany us through life. Although it is possible to help the child to deal with this, it is difficult - if not impossible - to change the shy child from shy and isolated to a social child who enjoys the presence of people around him. But - and here I focus on the word "but" - the way we respond to the child is also reflected in its basic edition. A shy child can take advantage of caring for his or her sensitive parents, while a happy, social and open child will be surrounded by a bad family atmosphere. If we protect the shy child from the need to interact with others, we build on this predisposition to shyness and make the child more difficult to cope. Similarly, if we ignore his printing and make it difficult for him, we weaken his already weak self-confidence. What is needed is to adopt a compromise, and introduce the child to other children gradually and in a sensitive manner to his feelings.
Help your child become socialized
Encourage him to be a useful person: Allow him to help you wash or wipe the table. Children who find themselves in a culture that encourages attention to others are more likely to have more social skills.
Be a good role model for him. Parents must be polite, respectful, and interested in each other if they want their children to behave this way.
Show your passion for your children, even if you find it difficult. The likelihood of making friends with more open and emotional children increases.
Give value to your child's social skills. When your child is polite and caring, tell him how proud you are. Expect respect, mutual interest and respect.
Minimize competition among children. Do not divide things equally. This only encourages children to seek the largest share. I give according to need.
Love your child in a unique and distinctive way. It is easier for a child who knows that his family loves him as he is to be open to others and comfortable in showing his true personality.
Help toddlers play together
Remember that your toddler's possessions help him identify him. He sees himself as that little boy with these parents, that house, this brother, that bike, this stuffed bear. For this reason, sharing his games is not a simple matter. In the end, if he defines himself as the little boy with that bike, what will happen when someone else plays it? If a friend is coming to play with your child, you can take the following steps:
Discuss with him what games he will leave available abroad and those that will put them away. It does not need to be shared.
Do not expect him to share his games for four hours at a time.
Try to find activity for children based on the principle of participation. Such as a new set of clay paste or a new pencil box so that it does not belong to one child. You can also make jam pies to help with their bread.
Talk to your child a bit about sharing and then choose a password to remember. For example, the word "remember" can mean "remember what we said".
Let them breathe out of their energy by playing loud music, jumping over the couch, or throwing paper-balls on the chair. Stress requires venting.
In order to enjoy meeting your girlfriend, it is best not to ignore children: toddlers who are usually ignored are children who are hooligans!
Help the shy child
Put a button in your child's pocket and tell him that you think about it whenever you catch him. A shy child needs to be "fully psychologically ready" when he feels he can not cope.
When social skills do not come naturally, the child needs training. Explain to him how to introduce himself, and give him a few notes to start the conversation, such as, "Hello, my name is Khaled", and invite another child to share with him "Do you want some of what I have?".
Dress up what other children usually wear. The last thing a shy child needs is to be different from others and eye-catching.
If you go to a play group or nursery, ask the person in charge of the group if there are other shy children in the group, and talk with their parents about bringing your children together. Building friendship will give one skill and confidence to make other friendships.
