MY TRIP TO NAMIBIA. –Part #2 DUNE 7
Location: Africa, Namibia, Walvis Bay, Namib Desert. Coastal sand dunes between Walvis Bay & Swakopmund.
Hello Steemians, I am back with part two of my trip to Namibia. I hope you enjoyed part #1 of my post. On this post I will be showing you photos from my experience in a section of the Namib Desert, the Dune 7.
On the third week of my stay in Namibia, the school announced that we would be going out for some sight-seeing and braai (barbecue) party. The braai, or barbecue, could be considered Namibia's national pastime.
“What is our destination?” I asked, as we were all excited. “Dune 7,” announced Lady Moshoeshoe, the head of Admin of the school.
So on this beautiful Saturday morning we piled into the bus. As there was an option to either join the other students in the bus or join Lady Moshoeshoe in her beautiful BMW car, I opted for the latter and headed east out of Walvis Bay.
Dune 7 is a very high coastal sand dune between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, in Namibia. According to the Namibian Ministry of Environment & Tourism, this is the highest sand dune in the world, located in the Namib Desert.
Enjoy the sights!😀😀
What an experience this had been – my first successful ascent of a dune! 😀😀
