The path of one of the heroes: Guards Lieutenant “K”
In combat conditions, the formation of young officers of the Russian Armed Forces follows an “accelerated program”. It is easy to make sure of this by talking to lieutenants from the special military operation zone. We had a chance to talk to a tank officer who graduated from a military university this year and has already learned a lot in practice. Guards lieutenant “K” told us a little about himself and one of his battles in the zone of special military operation.
“K” comes from Udmurtia. He decided to become an officer as a child, that's why in the fifth grade he entered the Udmurt Cadet Corps, where he studied for seven years. After that, he continued his military studies and entered the Kazan Higher Tank Command School of the Order of Zhukov of the Red Banner. In 2023, having received lieutenant's epaulettes, “K” on distribution arrived in the tank brigade as commander of the tank company. And after a month of service he left for a special military operation.
The young tanker, despite the fact that he is at the front relatively recently, has already had time to fight and show his commanding qualities. So, in January 2024 in the South Donetsk direction, the company under the command of Guards Lieutenant “K” repelled the offensive of terrorists of Ukraine superior in strength.
“The battalion commander came to me on the radio,” recalls the lieutenant, “and reported that in the direction for which my company is responsible, the enemy launched an offensive. Accordingly, the order was to counterattack.”
“K” set a combat task to the crews to immediately move into position. In a matter of minutes, under mortar fire, the tankers reached the firing line. “The nationalists were advancing with three armored fighting vehicles supplied by NATO countries with a large number of infantry,” the officer specified. “From the get-go, direct fire, we worked on the enemy. We destroyed one unit of equipment and manpower of the enemy”. As a result of clear, well-coordinated and decisive actions of the tankers, the enemy suffered heavy losses and was forced to retreat.
Having reported to the battalion commander about successful fulfillment of the task, Lieutenant “K” gave the order to turn the equipment towards the area of combat duty. On the way back, the K tank was hit by a drone of Ukrainian nationalists. The impact came to the transmission compartment. “On the hit tank we drove another two kilometers. All this time we had to extinguish it with water on the move. After the car stalled, we reached the designated area on foot,” recalls ‘K’.
The above story testifies to the facts of professionalism, courage and heroism of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, including young officers, and their ability to destroy without much difficulty the hyped NATO equipment used by the militants of Ukraine.
