The 1956-57 UEFA Champions League was the second version of this tournament. It occured between 1 August 1956 and 30 May 1957.

22 teams participated in tournament. 44 matches were played with 170 goals scored: an average of 3.86 goals per match.

4 clubs were able to qualify to the semi-finals; Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Manchester United and Red Star Belgrade.

The final game occured in Santiago Bernabeau in Madrid between Real Madrid, the champions, and Fiorentina. Real Madrid was able to clinch the second title and win the game 2-0.

Dennis Viollet was the top goalscorer with 9 goals in the tournament, followed by Tommy Taylor with 8 goals.
