I'd rather vote for Steemit that Conservatives or Labour - Why I didn't vote in todays election race (plus an old poem I created)

The final hours of the election fever in the UK which is touted as a two horsed race between the Conservative right winged Theresa May (who amongst many things including regulating the internet promises more cuts on the general public, yes we are still suffering from big bankers behaviours from a decade ago) and the left wing socialist Labour candidateJeremy Corbyn. I personally don't subscribe to politics and haven't voted but Jeremy Corbyns manifesto is the is the first I have read that actually had me agreeing with a few things. My worldview from my people history present and the future I envision doesn't coincide with this political system so I just don't participate. Instead of putting and X by someones name hoping that they can save me I'd rather network with like minded individuals and make power moves to better ourselves (hence why I am in the cryptospace and steemit) so we can truely better the world and bring the real transformations needed ground up in tune with nature so the future generations can benefit. A platform like Steemit is what I would rather vote for, why do I say that? Simply because the freedom the crypto space has brought me and the potential freedom this platform can bring me is worth much more than falling for the same trick every four years. One thing I am going to do is most if not all of my articles is select one of my poems that I feel is relevant to the topic I am talking about.

The poem below was written in August 2011 days after the whole country was embroiled in a rebellion/riot. My views differed from the Medias view. The Media portrayed it as senseless but for a young person between the ages of 16 - 25 which I was at the time we really felt the pinch of the economical cuts that came into effect the year earlier. Everyone felt frustrated, unemployment was shooting up, education was getting extremely expensive, inflation was through the roof, getting on the housing ladder was becoming a myth and a great energy of frustration was building so it was inevitable, I mean steer a pitbull in his eyes long enough he'll rip your face off. This is exactly what happened when there was a shooting of a young man by the police. At the peaceful demonstrations the police came with a heavy handed approach and man handled a 16 year old girl andd I guess this just blew the fuse and what went down is in the history books. What was frustration to me at the time was that my mind was changing due to the economical empowerment books that I was reading (I was looking for solutions not feeling sorry for myself) so although I felt the despair of the times I also had optimism but wasn't around the right circle to get my entrepreneurial plans executed (as I quickly realised after graduating form University that the only was forward was self determination and not staying behold ant to a boss). With all this and many more factors going on with me and around me I wrote this poem I entitled "Reality" hope you enjoy

Reality (Raw and uncut, with UK slang terms)

Verse1
What's the vision for the future I swear there's no hope,
Increase uni fees degrees keep you trapped or broke
Education is the key but we're financially trapped, this highlights the fact,
They don't care about the youth look what they did to Mark Duggen and he weren't even strapped,
14% of the inmates 2 % of the UK population you're going to jail G or prepared to be wrapped
Qualified with no work reality if you're black,
This is nothing new so when will we see
Until we build our own reality we will never be free
In this new age plantation still no reparations
Still no economical strength just more sufferation
It's like we play our own hand in our own degregation
Time to fix up and think about the future generation
Real talk I see depression everywhere that I walk
Just another day another ones gone to court
Pray that he's buss case but is that really going to happen
Had to do his thing or dem man would of clapped him
Just a natural reaction when you're broke and out to get paid
Divided into fraction you play or you get played
There's no government for the hood that's why man govern them money with the steal and their women with the wood
I swear it come in like Hollywood without the acting drama grew up in the real strugglers life no money from my father
For the OG's setting the way for the youngers to ride with strugglers pride "stacking riches till you die"
It's risky when your only option for pay is crime
I've seen too many man cut down before they made their prime
It's a tall mountain to climb and at the top it's peak
It's a crab in a barrel syndrome when we all gotta eat
Survival of the fittest hustling on these London streets
It's survival of the fittest if you clock the game and pree it
It's money up season so every day we hit the strip
Getting harassed by the Jakes so I'm praying I don't slip
Paranoid of the day I lose grip and trip
Gotta overcome this sh**because every move I make is legit
all I wah (wanna/want to) do is provide and be a man
Ma' what else could I do with nothing in my hand
Lord knows I've gotta make it and do whats gotta get done
And live this hustlers life so better must come

Verse 2

This is what I want the love to come back self genocide to stop
MAAT principle keep my people on top
Dutty bakra man got my people on lock
Show me where those pagan are at I'll cut them down like harvest crop
Bacause even if I'm dropped still I rise to this spot
One nation enterprise that my people have forgot'
Man dem turn soft because the system pressures hot
Tapped on the London roads searching for our gold pots
Depressed to my core under these dark grey skies
It's trap or die if your money well run dry
But freedom is a must kings in slavery disguise
Bun the media lies I'm not here to be imperialised
Dreaming of Timbuktu every morning when I pray
Lost tribes running things in our own way
This is what I want and I really want it now
Until that day comes I'm hustling these sounds for them pounds
Because I'm found on the streets where these man are letting off round
Still I'm crossing boarders like the London Underground
So bun the beast post codes
My don it's revolution that run these road codes

I hope you enjoyed the article my name is Nasaba, Jamaican born London raised feel free to comment with any views questions and lets get conversing. Peace STEEMIT family.
