Game 1: Arsenal v Brentford - 3 - 1

Arsenal booked their passage into the next round with a comfortable win over Brentford.

Game 2: Liverpool v Chelsea - 1 - 2

Two late strikes from defender Emerson and talisman Eden Hazard was enough for Chelsea to earn a come from behind win against Liverpool. It's the first game this season that Liverpool have failed to win. Saturday's clash away between these two at Stamford Bridge on now has added importance.

Nottingham Forest won the battle of the Championship sides earning their passage to the next round at the expense of Stoke.

West Ham earned their biggest win in over 30 years with an emphatic 8-0 win over Macclesfield. You don't see that scoreline every day!

Tottenham went through on penalties after a 2-2 draw with Watford.
