Old Money lucky find
This my favorite paper money. I like it because of where I received it. I was at the grocery store and the person ahead if me in line paid for a candy bar with it.
The cashier mentioned the blue on it and stuck it in the cash drawer. I promptly purchased it back for $5.
It is a 1934 Silver Certificate. Back in the day one could go into a bank and exchange it for $5 of Silver. Kewl huh?
Here is the almost twin of it. For some strange reason it is also a 1934 $5 that I was given. It does not have the blue badges but proudly states "Will pay to the bearer on demand"
The ink is darker on both and the paper is heavier. They don't make em like they used to.
I also have a $10 bill which is dated 1934. Weird because these have all come to me randomly.
That is The best way to recive things... Randomly.. When you least expect it 😉
That is a cool paper money and cool to se The history and the difference between them.
We dont really go to the bank anymore.. Lol

The cashier was young and acted relieved, I was taking, the possible counterfeit money lol.
Another time....I saw someone pay with a $2 bill (same store). $2 bills are cool but not very valuable. The young man at the register had never seen one before and would not accept the $2. Instead he went around asking other people his age what they thought. Finally a older man that was a bagger told the boy "there is such a thing as a $2 bill. Lol
