Weekend Trekking in the Wilderness

Weekend is a time we all look forward to, it's time of relaxation and unwinding self from the weekly fatigue of all the work pressure we go through. For me weekend is time for travel and adventure. I generally prefer to be outdoors rather then spending time at home, because if I am at home, I would spend my day just lazing around. So it's better to spend the time outdoors and get some fresh air.

This weekend we visited a small village which is on the hills. Visiting this part of the world always takes me back some decades, because life here is still so primitive types, and I kind of like it also. These people are not backward, if they want they can get all the possible technology, but personally they have made choices to live in an indigenous way.

It was almost a 3 hour drive reaching to the place. The road all the way was straight and smooth, just the last half an hour was a climb. I normally do not like curvy climbing roads, but over a period of time I have got used to it. I prefer short uphill drives, if it's a long one then I do get motion sickness. This one was a pretty decent one.

The roads are also very narrow. Only one car can pass at a time and that too it's a self coordination, there are no signal systems to monitor the movement.

Only a 4 wheel drive is allowed on these roads, the sedan would not be able to go up. While returning back our cars also got stuck up. The boys are not used to such roads, so take up the car on the hill was quite a challenge, the road was narrow so there had to be lot of precision. The local guys did help us giving some tips and we could move up.

As we started getting into the village further, the streets got narrower, and then there was only walking path.

Some of the very old houses were closed, probably the families would have moved to another place. But we can see from their look how old they are. Not all of them were closed, there were a few where people were still living.

For some adventure, we started going downhill, which was quite a wild area. The place is very famous for Pomegranate, but this is not the season, so the trees have all dried up.

People actually live here, must be challenging but I am sure they have their own benefits as well.

That was really a wonderful day spent in nature once again. Next weekend I am looking forwards to visiting one more place on the hills, but that's going to be a little more of comfort.
