Eid Holidays Begin....Fun Time
Holidays are always exciting and something to look forward to. In Middle East we normally get a minimum of 5 days holiday after the Holy month of Ramadan gets over. Sometimes they declare full week holiday, so along with the 2 weekends we get a good 9 days break. Every year I run away to India in these holidays, because as it is it's summer here so outdoors not much fun, so might as well travel back home. But this year I cannot, hopefully I should be able to travel soon. Anyways I do not want to let the holiday spirit die off thinking of these things.
Holidays started from yesterday and will end on Saturday. Last evening we made a plan of a small get together with close friends and do Indian snack party. In India we call it Chaat Party. The dress code of this party was Traditional outfit, just to bring in the Indian traditional vibe into the gathering. My friend at whose place we hosted also did some decor of the home in a traditional way. We have lockdowns in the city from 07:00 P.M. to morning 04:00 A.M. every day, so we decided to do this in the afternoon, and the lunch was replaced with the Chaat party.
We arranged for Pani Puri, Sev Puri and Ragda Chaat, My Indian friends will know how yummy these things are, well I do not have English names for them but then I am sure you will understand looking at the pictures.

Except for the Puris, everything else is home made. My friend did most of the job, this time I had zero contribution in any preparation. My contribution was only eating...hehehe

Variety of Chutneys are all made at home

These Puris we got readymade packets

And the spiced water for Pani Puri. I always enjoy my Pani Puri with a mix of sweet and spicy. The sweet is added up with tamarind sauce.

This is how we add up things in the Puri and then gobble it up.
And I relished the Curd Puri Chaat. It brought back memories of Mumbai, where almost in every lane you have these stalls.

Me and Hubby in our traditional outfits.

It was all so delicious that I hogged beyond my digesting capacity and then I was feeling so full that I could not eat anything for the rest of the day. But anyways I enjoyed it so no problem for 1 day tummy going for a toss.
Now that the holiday continues, we have come to one of the resorts on the Mountain Top. It's a beautiful place. While the temperature in the city is 42 degrees, here on top it is 15 degrees, we are going to be here till Friday afternoon and then drive back home.

Once in a way it is ok, then next 2 to 3 days you can detox :-) that is my philosophy
Seeing your diary, my mouth became watery.Seeing Indian snacks, it is a natural thing to get mouth water and especially at a time when we cannot eat it all outside.
Both of you are looking very beautiful in Indian dress. Nice post as always.
