At first, take my cordial salam. This is @nahiansajid from #bangladesh. It's hoped that all of you are well by the grace of omni-merciful ALLAH. I am also great by the grace of almighty ALLAH.

Today, I'm going to take part in a contest in Healthy Steem community. The contest is titled "Healthy Lifestyle". It is organized by honorable @suboohi. I hope that all of you will enjoy my writing.

What do you understand by HealthyLifestyle?


A healthy lifestyle is a pattern related to behaviour and it's aimed at maintaining the human organism's health and preventing risks of diseases. It means to a individual maintaining proper nutrition, regular physical activity, mental health care, quality rest, and avoidance of harmful habits, such as smoking or excessive consumption of alcohol.


Write some basic healthy lifestyle habits to get better health.

  • Balanced Diet

It indicates healthy food items like, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
And it also encourages to avoid unhealthy food like, sugary beverages.

  • Regular Exercise

We should engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily, such as walking, cycling, yoga and many more. It will be helpful to be healthy making our bone stronger.

  • Adequate Sleep

Now a days, one of the major problems of the generation is the negligence to maintain a minimum hours of sleep. We all maintain 7–9 hours of quality sleep each night which will allow the body to recover and recharge. It helps us refresh ourselves for the best 24 hours.

  • Stress Management

In order to remove our monotony and mental pressure, we can practice mindfulness, meditation, or deep breathing exercises to reduce our stress.

  • Social Connections

There is a wise saying for students,

"Triple Eight"

Triple Eight means to divide the whole day of 24 hours into three eight. First eight hours is for study, second eight hours is for family and society and the reaming eight hours should be spent to build a broader and strong communication with our surroundings.Thus, we must give our time to establish positive relationships to support mental health and reduce feelings of isolation.

Obesity

Obesity can be defined as a medical condition, which is sometimes considered as a disease, in which excess body fat has accumulated to such an extent that it can potentially have negative effects on health. It is typically measured using the Body Mass Index (BMI), where a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese.

  • Problem:

It usually causes by unhealthy eating and sedentary behavior.

  • Solution:

We must focus on eating a balanced diet where nutrient-rich foods will be available in abundance, while, avoiding high-calorie, processed items. It is so important to do regular exercise, such as 150 minutes of physical activity weekly, is essential for maintaining a healthy weight.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic medical condition where the body either doesn't produce enough insulin or doesn't use insulin effectively. Insulin is a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels.

  • Problem:

It’s often associated with poor dietary habits, like high intake of sugar and processed foods.

  • Solution:

Type 2 diabetes can be managed or reduced through lifestyle changes. Adopting a healthy diet rich in whole foods, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight are key steps. Monitoring blood sugar levels, managing stress, and ensuring proper sleep also help improve insulin sensitivity.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a condition where the force of blood is consistently too high against the artery walls, and it can lead to health problems like heart disease, stroke, or kidney damage.

  • Problem:

It is caused by high sodium intake, stress, and inactivity.

  • Solution:

We can manage normalize blood pressure reducing salt intake, staying physically active through regular exercise, and incorporating relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation.

Insomnia

Insomnia is a sleep disorder where a person has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting quality sleep.

  • Problem:

It is linked to poor sleep habits, stress, and excessive screen time.

  • Solution:

We can improve sleep quality following a consistent sleep schedule, reducing caffeine, and creating a relaxing bedtime routine.

Heart Disease

Heart disease refers to a range of conditions affecting the heart, which includes coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure. It is often caused by factors like poor lifestyle, genetics, or other health issues.

  • Problem:

It is associated with high cholesterol, unhealthy diets, and smoking.

  • Solution:

We can significantly reduce the risk of heart diseases managing heart-friendly diet, regular exercise, and quitting smoking.

A healthy lifestyle is a proactive approach to prevent and manage common health problems. It leads to substantial long-term benefits, through consistent changes in daily habits, improving physical and mental well-being.
