Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Facebook, many blamed some for letting users share hoax news links on Facebook

Recently, a number of Facebook users complain because the social media giant is sending spam SMS that is not related to security.

Spam SMS is sent to users who enable two-factor-authentication security features. One user even upload messages received from Facebook to social media.

In the upload, as quoted from Tech Crunch, Monday (19/2/2018), a user named Gabriel Lewis get a continuous SMS containing a link or a link from Facebook.

"I enrolled 2 factors auth on Facebook and they even use it to send spam notifications, Facebook also upload SMS replies to my wall," he said.

Known, after getting SMS spam, Facebook account Lewis also automatically upload the phrase "Do not send SMS again" and "please stop."

Facebook thought it was a Bug

In response to this, Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos said his apology.

According to him, the company is making improvements on this. He also mentioned, users who can not feature two-factor authentication will not be there SMS.

Unfortunately, Facebook easily called it a bug. Release, this is evidence that the company can not implement security features well.

"It's not our intention of sending unrelated SMS to my phone number number so sorry for the inconvenience," Stamos said.

Furthermore, he said, Facebook has ensured that users who activate the two-factor authetication do not receive similar SMS spam.

"We hope that this can be completed in the coming days, it's not a deliberate thing, it's a bug," he said.

Security layer

This is certainly considered very bad, especially Facebook now asks users to use generator code via mobile app or two-factor-authentication when they want to login.

Both are the security layer that Facebook implements so that others can not log in to a user's Facebook account must have entered the correct password.
