6 Tahun lamanya sejak terakhir Kali saya menginjakkan kaki di Kota Bandung, Kota kenang-kenangan tempat saya berjuang menamatkan pendidikan saya Dari sekolah menengah Pertama sampai selesai kuliah di Tahun 2009. Terakhir Kali saya ke Kota Bandung adakah Saat liburan singkat di Tahun 2018 sekaligus mengunjungi kakak laki-laki saya yang membiayai sekolah saya.

Kali ini perjalanannya sedikit berbeda, bukan lagi liburan atau jalan-jalan, melainkan karena adanya kegiatan Dari tempat saya bekerja yang kebetulan diadakan di Kota Bandung. Sungguh keberuntungan yang patut saya syukuri, karena Jujur sudah cukup lama sejak terakhir Kali kunjungan saya ke Kota ini. Ada rasa nostalgia Dan penawaran bagaimana rupa Dari Kota yang menjadi tempat saya tumbuh besar.

Sebelum melangkah jauh, Mari kita Mulai perjalanan kita Dari Jakarta. Tepatnya Dari Stasiun Kereta Cepat Indonesia China atau KCIC di wilayah Halim, Jakarta Timur. Ini adakah pengalaman Pertama saya menuju Kota Bandung menggunakan Kereta Cepat yang waktu tempuhnya hanya sekitar 35 menit saja. Ini adakah perubahan yang drastic, mengingat dahulu waktu tempuh antara Jakarta Dan Bandung Adalah 6 jam, Jika melewati Wilayah Puncak Bogor, 4 jam dengan menggunakan Moda transportasi bus melewati Tol Cipularang, 2 jam Jika menggunakan kendaraan Pribadi. Namun waktu diatas Adalah estimasi dengan kondisi terbaik tanpa adanya hambatan kemacetan. Sungguh sebuah upgrade yang sangat jauh lebih baik.

Kami turun di Stasiun KCIC Padalarang, Bandung Barat selanjutnya menuju Kota Bandung dengan bus. Tujuan kami Adalah menuju lokasi untuk team building di wilayah Lembang. Dahulu Wilayah Lembang Adalah wilayah dataran tinggi dengan cuaca Sejuk Dan hamparan Ladang Pertanian warga sejauh mata memandang. Namun tidak lama lagi saya akan terkejut bagaimana perubahan drastis juga akan terjadi disini.

Satu Hal yang tidak berubah Adalah kemacetan. Bandung Masih menjadi Kota dengan tingkat kemacetan yang tinggi ketika weekend. Jalanan yang sempit tidak sebanding dengan volume kendaraan yang ada. Wajar saja, Kota ini memang di Rancang sebagai Kota Residential Area Oleh Belanda, bukan sebagai sebuah Kota untuk Bisnis seperti Jakarta, ataupun Surabaya.

Kami melewati Jalan Setiabudi untuk Menuju Lembang, melewati kampus lama saya, Dan Vila-vila lama peninggalan Belanda. Yang paling Indah tentunya Adalah Vila Isola sebuah Vila dengan gaya Art deco Rancangan Architect: Charles Prosper Wolff Schoemaker untuk pengusaha Kaya Belanda Dominique Willem Berrety. Mobil melaju cukup kencang sehingga saya tidak sempat untuk mengambil gambar dengan jelas. Agar kalian Bisa tahu bagaimana indahnya Vila Isola Berikut saya lampiran foto yang saya ambil di Google.

1 Jam perjalanan berlalu, Dan yang ada dalam pikiran saya Adalah kekagetan yang luar biasa bagaimana perkembangan wilayah ini sejak terakhir Kali saya mengunjungi Lembang. Tidak ada lagi hamparan Ladang sayur yang bisa terlihat Dari pinggir jalan, berganti dengan Deretan Vila, Hotel, cafe Dan restoran di sepanjang jalan Raya Lembang. 15 Tahun Adalah waktu yang sangat cepat untuk perkembangan yang sangat drastis ini. Terlintas ingatan saya ketika Menuju Lembang Saat melakukan penelitian untuk Skripsi saya. Dahulu Deretan Rumah Tua peninggalan Belanda Masih banyak di Pusat Kota Lembang, lalu Hamparan Ladang Pertanian Dan Peternakan sapi Masih cukup luas. Kini semua berganti dengan Deretan Hotel, Restaurant dengan Lokasi Wisata. Bukit yang dulu Hijau Dipenuhi Pohon Pinus berganti dengan Atap-atap Vila Mewah. Satu Hal yang tidak berubah Adalah Sisi Sebelah Timur, dahulu ini Adalah lokasi tempat tinggal para Petani, yang rumahnya berada di Puncak bukit dengan pemandangan Panorama Kota Bandung terlihat di kejauhan.

Hanya inilah Sisa Dari Wilayah Lembang yang Masih saya kenali, selebihnya, semua tampak asing, berbeda, seakan ini Adalah kunjungan Pertama saya untuk suatu daerah yang baru. Bagi saya yang mengharapkan kunjungan ini membangkitkan kenangan Nostalgia menjadi hampa. Mungkin sama Seperti Captain America yang melihat perkembangan Dunia setelah tertidur Selama 70 Tahun. Dunia memang berputar, tidak pernah Berhenti, semua yang lama kelak akan berganti yang baru. Mungkin saja kelak di kunjungan berikutnya memori yang dulu akan hilang berganti dengan memori yang baru. Sama seperti Rumah di Bukit Ini, mungkin ketika saya kembali lagi disini, sudah berganti menjadi Vila Mewah. Namun saya bersyukur, Masih diberikan kesempatan untuk melihatnya walaupun mungkin ini yang terakhir Kalinya.

ENGLISH VERSION

It's been 6 years since I last set foot in Bandung, the city of memories where I struggled to complete my education from junior high school until I graduated from college in 2009. The last time I visited Bandung was during a short holiday in 2018, when I also visited my older brother who financed my education.

This time, the journey is a bit different—not for vacation or leisure, but because of an event from my workplace that happened to be held in Bandung. It’s a stroke of luck that I’m grateful for, as honestly, it’s been a long time since my last visit to this city. There’s a sense of nostalgia and curiosity about how the city, where I grew up, has changed.

Before we go further, let’s start our journey from Jakarta, specifically from the Indonesia-China High-Speed Rail Station (KCIC) in the Halim area, East Jakarta. This is my first experience heading to Bandung using the high-speed train, which takes only about 35 minutes. This is a drastic change, considering that in the past, the travel time between Jakarta and Bandung was 6 hours if passing through the Puncak Bogor area, 4 hours by bus via the Cipularang Toll Road, or 2 hours by private vehicle. However, those times are estimates under the best conditions without traffic jams. Truly a significant upgrade.

We disembarked at the KCIC Padalarang Station in West Bandung and continued to Bandung City by bus. Our destination was a team-building location in the Lembang area. In the past, Lembang was a highland area with cool weather and vast fields of agricultural land as far as the eye could see. But soon, I will be surprised by the drastic changes that have occurred here.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the traffic congestion. Bandung still remains a city with high traffic congestion, especially during weekends. The narrow roads are not proportional to the volume of vehicles. It’s understandable, as this city was originally designed by the Dutch as a residential area, not as a business city like Jakarta or Surabaya.

We passed through Setiabudi Street on our way to Lembang, passing my old campus and old villas from the Dutch colonial era. The most beautiful of them all is Villa Isola, an Art Deco-style villa designed by architect Charles Prosper Wolff Schoemaker for a wealthy Dutch businessman, Dominique Willem Berrety. The car was moving fast, so I didn’t have the chance to take clear pictures. To give you an idea of how beautiful Villa Isola is, I’ve attached a photo I found on Google.

An hour passed, and what was on my mind was the shock of how much this area has developed since I last visited Lembang. No longer are there fields of vegetables visible from the roadside, replaced by rows of villas, hotels, cafes, and restaurants along the main road of Lembang. Fifteen years is a very short time for such drastic development. I remembered the time when I was heading to Lembang for my thesis research. Back then, there were still many old Dutch houses in the center of Lembang, and the fields of agriculture and dairy farms were still quite extensive. Now, everything has been replaced by rows of hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The hills that were once green and filled with pine trees have been replaced by the roofs of luxury villas. One thing that hasn’t changed is the eastern side, which used to be the place where farmers lived, their houses perched on the hilltop with a panoramic view of Bandung City in the distance.

This is the only part of Lembang that I still recognize; the rest looks unfamiliar, different, as if this is my first visit to a new place. For someone like me who hoped this visit would evoke nostalgic memories, it feels empty. Perhaps it’s like Captain America seeing the world’s developments after being asleep for 70 years. The world keeps turning, never stopping; all that is old will eventually be replaced by something new. Maybe in my next visit, the old memories will be replaced by new ones. Just like the house on this hill, maybe when I return, it will have been replaced by a luxury villa. But I am grateful to still have the opportunity to see it, even if this might be the last time.
