What Would Boost The Price Of Steem? - Sponsorship? - 575

"What news do you think would make it go up? Everyone I know that is not/no longer on Steemit thinks this is a death project." link

Although Steemit may appear to be a death project and I think for while it was a death project I think it is now salvageable. For a while Steemit was totally running towards bankruptcy and although right now it is being managed towards bankruptcy apparently it does have the capability to avoid bankruptcy if it laid off its staff and covered the hosting costs with ad revenue.

If Steemit were able to completely cover all costs with ad revenue I think that would help the price and if it were able to cover all costs and buy some Steem I think that could quickly help turn things around.

Unfortunately for Steem right now it has a lot going against it but when things turn around it will have a lot going for it. I think when things turn around it will be able to hit 100,000 posts a day but right now it might get down to 30,000 posts/comments.

I had an idea for a sponsorship if anybody want me to help promote their posts or account.

Disqus is shutting down it's internal blogging platform at the end of the month, there's accounts there with over a hundred thousand followers....but they blog current media content news, some follow the fair use doctrine when posting and require posters to do the same, it would be advantageous if those in the higher echelon were to extend a hand, maybe some delegation to those who have run in the top ten rankings on the platform to come use Steem for their blogging platform with a requirement they continue to use the fair use doctrine. It's a prime opportunity, would bring in potentially hundreds of new users. They are all over there looking for new homes.

Discussion is here: Saying Goodbye to Disqus Channels

However the discussion is moderated so pointing out SteemIt as alternative might not make it past the moderators.

They are an interactive group of bloggers who follow different sites on the Disqus Platform, some with the same avatar or various other avatars as they mostly participate on a certain site but going wondering under different avatars because they are clique"y" that way...once I think they are disbanded as a whole things will more than likely fall apart and dissolve over time, in other words I just don't see it being the same or people wanting to go to a ton of different blog sites to keep up with everyone. If they relocated to the same site that may not happen. I guess one could be concerned with losing moderators or losing their audience, without an audience you don't need moderators. I think it's a shame Disqus is doing that as there are many elderly, handicapped or just plain odd balls like myself whom that site has given a outlet to, though I don't participate as much as I use to I still go there a few days out of the week to post stuff for those very reasons. As a matter of fact I attribute that site and one particular person whom I have never meant as literally saving my life, if I hadn't come across that connection I can't honestly say I would still be here. I think they could have handled it differently, maybe went to subscriptions which many people thought was a good idea, that may have gotten rid of a lot of the sites causing the problems...I don't know. Then maybe some wouldn't want to deal with a crypto site either...so there's that also.

Well, have a

Hey @sunlit7, here is your BEER token. Enjoy it!

As expected, Disqus doesn't like links to alternatives:

How ironic....we want you to leave but we don't want you to post alternatives of where to go.

SteemIt would need to get rid of the whales. They are bad for various reasons. Not only do they have most of the power some of them also have delusions of grandeur.

For the latter you don't even need to be a whale. There are enough orcas and dolphins who thinks they are gods gift to the blockchain and don't you dare criticise them.

But instead of curbing the stranglehold the 0.1% have over then blockchain Steem is adding gratis downvotes. As if we don't have enough spiteful downvotes already.

Steem is at 20 Eurocent. A good price to buy. But I don't.

BTW: The downward trend for postings (excluding comments) is even more pro fund.

I think the main problem is the low price of Steem and I think Steemit Inc is the main seller of Steem. They should sell internally and not on the markets where they kill the price.

I completely agree. That downvote stuff is completely BS. I also don't agree with lowering the pay outs for content creators.
