Aquariums can be simple decor items and at the same time can be a good pet project. You can see that some of the creative designs can be done using the available aquarium bowls. Yanko design made this prototype aquarium for keeping both pot and the aquarium in same place. They don't have DIY information for the product but you may want to take a look at the design and check out if you can replicate something like this in your area. The design seems harder to replicate but it's possible if you can get a different cube style design for the same. I'd recommend checking out more of such designs over there.

Desktop Jellyfish Tank
This is one project that was displasyed on the kickstarter. And it seems like the porotype seems to be something that worked out for some. I am sure you can seee that it is one creative idea. And something like that you can do in your local aquarium. Usually the local aquariums can allow you to do that with custom design. If you can find similar design on Amazon then go ahead. It is one good design for either betta fish or jelly fish.
