The time I sunk my boat

This is my new trout boat who my FB friends named Sur Notta Leak, since my old wooden boat was named Sur Leaks Alot, I thought it was a good name for it. This boat has a closed in seat in the back. One side there is a dry box, the other side was just a sealed wasted space. I decided to open it up and it was full of styrofoam, which I figured would be in it. Most fiberglass boats are filled with this in case you sink, the boat will float. 99% of my fishing is done in the river and our river is 6 to 7 feet except the channel and it is up to 14 ft but not very wide. Years ago I was on the west shore and a storm was coming,I was trying to make my way to the bridge for shelter. The boat I was fishing back then was a very old wooden boat that I had 3 bilge pumps in because it had so many leaks from the old nails working their way through the wood. I had one in the bow, one in the middle, and one in the stern. Anyway this storm got me when I was about 1/2 mile from the bridge. waves started breaking over my bow, the water was coming in so fast that I could not get on a slide to get it to run back to the other two pumps, I knew I was in trouble and headed for shore. I kept going until I got to shallow water I jumped over board and held the stern up to keep my motor from going under the salt water.. The front half of the boat was completely under water, I stayed holding motor up until the storm was over, lightening popping, rain, and wind blowing it's ass off, it seemed to go on forever but in reality was maybe 45 min to an hour. After the storm I got my boat pulled up as far as I could, I put my motor all the way down to keep it from going under. I found something to bail with, got it bailed out. Then I started going down the shoreline collecting all the crap that had floated out of my boat, coolers, totes, life jackets etc. That is the only time I have sunk in my 35 years of fishing. And I hope it was my last. This was in the 1980's but I don't remember what year.
